There's a lot of talk about the startup scene in India, but what's really happening on the ground? There's a side of India that the West doesn't know about. It's a side of India that is bursting with new startups, innovation, and opportunities.

In this video, you'll get a glimpse into the world of Indian startups and see why now is the time to invest in India.

There's an image that has been painted to us in the West about India, and that picture is real.
The crowds, the traffic, and extreme poverty. It's all here.
But a question has been growing in my head.

India represents 15% of our audience. Every day I meet more and more founders based out of India who are creating fantastic tech companies. But this is a country I don't understand.

This question I could only answer by experiencing India myself: how has this country transformed itself into a new tech hub? How are these solutions, these companies emerging from chaos?

I spent two weeks in Bangalore and in Chennai. Two growing tech hubs where I learned about an ecosystem that is surely transforming this country, neighborhood by neighborhood and city by city.

If you're interested in startups and entrepreneurship or just curious about what's happening in India, this is a must-watch video. So sit back and enjoy!

You're not allowed to film certain locations because in 2008, a tourist named David Headley filmed everything in Mumbai for Lashkar-e-Toiba, which then carried out a series of attacks on the city that lasted for three days. Since then, the government strictly prohibits filming.

An Indian politician named KTR says to foreigners,
"Your perspective towards India depends upon what gateway you choose to enter."

India is 100 countries in one country held together by shared cultural and spiritual roots.
Travel 100km in any direction and u will find it difficult to easily comprehend the language spoken or to order the same food u ate.

I hope the West continues to have the head bobbing IT nerd image of India - only adds to the element of surprise when we finally arrive.

Great video! You cannot describe India in just one word, or sentence. Every state in India is it's own country! After living in New York for 5 years, I am finally returning back to India to build my startup! Slidebean has been there at the beginning of the idea and until now. And hope it continues to the future too. I know it will. Thanks Slidebean for putting up this video!

Correction: You're allowed to shoot videos and snap pics in metro stations and train stations but you'll need permission to do so. I'm not sure about the details but if you're shooting content for commercial purpose there's a minor fees attached to it too.

Most people don't understand... It hasn't even been 100 years yet since india got it's independence... Not to mention that there were MANY PROBLEMS to solve after independence which the British specifically left for us as a 'farewell gift' but even so we have solved many of those problems and after all that NOW we are going towards developement... Remember that we're only one step into the technological world and yet india has made such an impact in small amount of time... In few decades the whole world will see the results.

This is pretty much the story of countries like India, Nigeria, Kenya etc..Hollywood depicts only the negative. If you actualy visit the countries the experience is quite eye-opening.

It was so nice and insightful talking to you Caya. India truly is chaotically organized. That's what makes it special. I can't wait to see where our country will be in the next decade.

BTW Payment gateways are far more efficient and secure in India than the west... And the gateways that you are using in your country are just monopolies trying to cash in on you!

Most people including current generation of Indians forget that up until early 90's India used to be like current day cuba due to extreme socialism. there used to be a two three year waitlist to get a telephone landline connection same with goods like cars and scooters due to "license raj", companies were banned by law to produce more than govt allotted quota of goods, which in turn created a heavy demand supply mismatch. from there to being a global leader in fintech, automobile, pharma manufacturing is quite an achievement for a continent sized democracy like India. all this happened in just thirty years.

I'm glad that you took the time to learn about my country. Representation matters. It's people like who helps us in the long run by letting others know what it us like in India.

Well done. Just one fact - some people call former chief minister of West Bengal as the father of Bangalore. why? : When IT companies approached him to build IT hub in Kolkata, he refused that proposal. Because he was communist and supporter of unions, who saw computer as threat to their jobs.

India is an incredible country. If you’ve never physically travelled there then you cannot judge it.
