People forget that Toyota is a car company, while Honda is a motor/engine company (boat engines, lawn mowers, generators, motor cycles, water pumps, etc) that happen to make cars too.

Having owned both a Toyota and a Honda, I would take Honda any day. Yes, Toyota maintenance may be a little easier and needed less often, but Honda is still virtually indestructible if you take care of it, and the driving feel of a Honda is completely unrivaled.

I own a 2006 Accord Coupe and a 2007 Toyota Highlander. I plan to keep them both forever. Had to change the alternator in the Highlander, otherwise, both have been bullet proof. Even so, I am more comfortable with the reliability of the Highlander. The fit and finish at this point just tells me it will last longer. The Honda does drive better. Both clocking around 140k miles so still babies.

I have a 2018 Honda HRV with 113k miles. It runs great and other than basic maintenance like tires, battery, oil brakes etc, I have not had any issues.

I have a 2006 honda pilot with 210 thousand miles and have only changed the alternator and oil transmission shifts wonderful and car is amazing interior to exterior

I've been watching your channel for years and I have to give you thanks and credit. I've learned so much from just watching your channel that when my 2007 Toyota Yaris with 242, 000 miles on it broke down, I had enough confidence to DIAGNOSE and FIX IT! My alternator seized up and my serpentine belt broke. I went to the local junk yard and found a wrecked Yaris with a good alternator. I removed it (what a pain) then replaced it on mine with a new serpentine belt. With the (two belts...one broke after the first misdiagnose) and the OEM alternator from the junkyard was less than $60. I saved HUNDREDS of dollars on new parts and mechanics wages. This is the 3rd alternator on the car and the last time I remember it cost me $500 to replace it. Thanks again!
