"Martial Arts Slander" is a YouTube video series created by popular user Aido. The videos show clips from popular culture and memes which are used to sarcastically mock a variety of martial art forms, such as karate, taekwondo, boxing and muay thai. A version of the rocky theme tune is played in the background to immerse the viewer into the world of martial arts, while text in the classic 2010's era meme style describes what the clips represent about a fighting style, the type of person who partakes in a specific martial art style etc. The "Slander" video format originally gained popularity through videos "Slandering" different cultures, for example "Europe Slander". Aido's video series takes this format and shines a light on a different part of the human experience in a unique way, which is why the series is highly acclaimed and has garnered a cult following in the martial arts youtube community where it has been etched into the memory's of thousands forever more. Not much is known about the creators future intentions with the series but it is ongoing and all his loyal fans hope for it to continue for many years to come.
