Did anyone else notice that in this video where they confidently tout the benefits of integrating technology into the classroom (with which I agree, of course), they have nothing to say (and no "data" to quote) on the benefits of technology integration for the humanities, but focus instead solely on its recorded benefits in math and science education? As a humanities/language teacher, this reinforces how the applications of technology in humanities/language classrooms are not as readily apparent as for math and science (though they are there). Since it's been a bit harder for me to integrate tech into my classrooms, it would have been nice to see that addressed at least in passing here. I usually have to absorb literature/tutorials on technology in the classroom that was made for STEM subjects and then transfer it to a humanities context.

This is a great resource for my students and it explains how technology should be used as a tool for all 21st. century educators.

Great video. I think the key is it should be all about the student not the teacher. I have seen teachers use technology in amazing ways but unfortunately the students are doing nothing. IWB's are a good example of this! Let's work on a student model where students are making connections and enhancing learning and using technology in creative and innovative ways. Great video.

Wow...those kids are far more well spoken and engaged than my generation ever was at school in being forced into the textbook learning approach. I noticed the students were using Macs and were greatly encouraged to be creative and share their experiences. I hate being 27! I want to go back to school! Excellent youtube clip.

This is awesome. I'm approaching 40 so I am willing to admit that I went to school with dinosaurs. If we could possibly place one of these kids from the video into one of my childhood classroom they would totally freak out, thinking they were dropped off into the twilight zone. It was so strict, nothing but rules and punishment, confined spaces, boring, non-engaging, unchallenged...and the "hungry for the spotlight type-teacher" How did we endure? Like someone mentioned earlier the kids at this age are so well-spoken and engaged. Good for these kids. May be the future generation has a lot more to offer than we think.

Using Technology with "analog" like drawing, painting, sculpting, building. It is a sad thing to forget so much art that is not traditional, working in mass, Perhaps intergrate Art into other area. Yes process, sharing ideas. Put art at center, include tech in Art and teach it every day instead of a half hour a week.
