Join us at Watchtrader & Co as we buy and sell and trade luxury watches.

Josh sits with a gentleman who is looking for his first Rolex GMT-Master II. We go through a range of the modern models, from the classic black bezel, through to the steel and rose gold Root Beer, the brand new black and grey Bruce Wayne and his alter ego the Batman. Not forgetting an honourable mention of the steel and yellow gold Zombie.

Jon looks at a Rolex Submariner Starbucks, will the gentleman selling the watch be able to convince Jon to offer more?

What do we mean by heavy hitters? Well, Harry has three of them on the desk today. First up is an absolutely stunning Patek Philippe Complication in green. Next is an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore, there aren’t many that hit heavier than this rose gold beaut. Finally a 2024 Rolex RBR Daytona, resplendent in factory set round cut diamonds with a mother of pearl dial.

Hendo’s back, back again. This time he’s brought in two watches, one vintage and one a 2024 full gold Daytona. What is Hendo doing with a modern, almost brand new watch? Well let’s just say it definitely doesn’t look brand new, but in a good way. Which leads us nicely onto his next watch, which Stuart described nicely as “looks like it’s been ran over”. The Heuer Monza AKA The Niki Lauda introduced in 1975 to celebrate his Formula 1 world championship that year.

It’s Harry and Jon’s turn this week to go through the post. Unboxing plenty of special time pieces going up for sale. Notably another ceramic Tudor Black Bay with the blue dial, a Cartier Santos, and a Black Bay Harrods. As well as a few Rolex pieces such as the Explorer II, a few Oyster Perpetuals and some GMT-Master II watches.

A gentleman has come into the store to sell a couple of watches, putting them up for consignment. Both in very good condition, the Tag Heuer Carrera Skeleton and a Breitling Avenger GMT.

That first bloke had no intention of buying any of those watches. He just wanted to try them all on and take pics. He'll never be back.

Hi Hendo. The 150.501 is indeed the Cal 15 (they were also available with Cal 12) PVD, while the Cal 15 chrome-plated like that example is 150.511. The Monza (and very rare Modena) watches all have base metal cases to differentiate them from the Carreras in the otherwise identical case in steel so the Monzas could be sold at a cheaper price. They're in the 1977 and 1978 catalogues then drop off the face of the earth so weren't around very long. I doubt you'll find specific Monza pushers - 1153 pushers would fit but then you'd have steel on brass so might be excessive wear. I see quite a few sellers calling it the Niki Lauda but I wouldn't go as far as saying that's its nickname - he appeared in an ad for the watch, but that's about it. He tended to actually wear an 1158 gold Carrera (gifted by Heuer to the Ferrari F1 drivers of the period and a select few others) until it was stolen rather than any sort of Monza.

I got my 'call' when on holiday this week from my AD. It ws that long I'd forgotten. Long story short I knocked it back. It wasn't even the watch I was on the list for. A rank rotten two tone on a jubilee.
Probably offered it because 3 other people rejected it.
I'm out.

The Batman at the end apparently in "fantastic look at the scratches on the bracelet at 20:04 in the video. If I tried to sell that watch to the guys I am certain they wouldn't tell me it's in "fantastic condition".

Do people understand that the GMT’s SUB’s etc are tool watches. They are tough & robust, built to use.

The way those watches are handled is appalling. Doesn't the budget run to a pair of gloves for each person?
