Easy Fat-Free Marinara Sauce
By: The Jaroudi Family

Ingredients:
2 ½ cups strained tomatoes, or canned diced tomatoes, or fresh chopped tomatoes.
1 pitted date
2 tbsp nutritional yeast
2 tbsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp white miso

Directions:
Add all ingredients into a high-speed blender – blend until smooth.

Notes:
*Add more dates or miso to your taste preference
*Experiment with spices
*Add in garlic cloves
*Add red pepper flakes for a kick

Store in an air-tight container for around five days refrigerator.
Sauce freezes well!

I cook my marinara with 1/2 c veggie broth + 1/2c red lentils to add some protein and bulk for an easy meal.

I used fresh tomatoes from the garden. I also added lots of garlic. It tastes wonderful but mine did not turn out a pretty color. Will have to add some canned sauce I guess. Flavor is great!
