For learners, it's important to distinguish AmE, BrE at first, the general accents, being AmE the most spoken, together with Indian English, then general Australian, Canadian?.... After that, they can focus on local accents.... Thanks for the audio.

Is that brooklyn accent the voice of Harvey from Suits?

I couldn't guess any accent, all of them are different and so hard for me to differentiate. I found many of them hard to understand but I could recognize certain words, and one or two impossible to comprehend. The hardest English accents to understand are, no wonder, found in the British Isles.

If a Canadian doesn’t say ‘about’ or ‘sorry’, they just sound like they’re from the USA.

Relatively few Australians speak with a 'cultivated' tone these days. It's about time to drop that from Aussie accent descriptions, I think. We also have a lot of ppl who were born in Australia but have a Greek, Italian or Lebanese background. Some of them have a slight inflection, as do some Indigenous people.

The Queen didn't speak RP, I've heard it called the 'Queen's English', the 'a' is drawn out whereas in RP it is more rounded. I would say Prince William speaks with a RP accent.

The ‘Yorkshire accent sounded like a not broad Manchester accent.

I got most of them! I missed Texas, Cultivated Australian, Black American, but most of all the WELSH! I am Welsh. Didn't sound at all like the unique Caaardiff accent that I remember, and in fact, didn't even sound Welsh. To me it just sounded modern RP/SE England. It was probably someone who was born in Wales, but now normally lives elsewhere.

I was born in London and the Cockney accent was absolutely terrible! Go to East London and see what it really is like

Wow, you really just put an ‘African American accent’ category on there…

I missed scouse, it was heavier and deeper than I remember anyone I’ve met speaking. Happy I got Texas right away. And Manchester was pretty easy because that sounds exactly like Noel Gallagher.

Most difficult: Scouse, Jamaican, Northern Irish, and black slang or ebonics

Funny, I'm from Jersey and my accent sounds more Brooklyn than the guy allegedly from Brooklyn.
