hi guys :). the reason why our song sounds like girl from ipanema is because we sampled the melody from it. i remember hearing sinatra's version of this on vinyl when i was just a kid. so one day we got to sample it, and i got to write my own version to pay tribute to the classic that has been recorded/covered by nearly 300 other artists. we never aimed to take away from the song or disrespect it. we just wanted to reinvent something from the past and share new art through the use of sampling, a facet of music used by almost every musician today. we're always about spreading love and happiness in this world through all of our songs, so we hope this one did just that. - colin from surfaces

Old 63 yr old guy here. I love your song. My 19 yr old daughter was playing it. I said that is the same music from a song when I was a child. I love your song, I refound the original and researched it which I did not when I was 8 years old. All good, old music, new music, old guy happy.

Hey! Thank you for this cover of The Girl From Ipanema, its one of the few pearls from my country that I think more often than not goes unappreciated and forgotten, you modernized it but still paid homage to the original which is what i love the most about this.
