To everyone that says this song is stealing from "Girl from Ipanema" and that it is theft, it's not! In the licencing to youtube portion of this video you can see that it is licensed to LatinAutor, UMG, and BMI amongst others. UMG owns Verve, the label that produced the original song "Girl from Ipanema", and the songwriters are affiliated to BMI who has 100% control of the original and control royalties. Meaning, Surfaces reached out to the copyright owners and the songwriters through BMI and got permission to use the melody as a sample, and that a portion of the royalties will go to the original songwriters! I know sampling can be a morally gray area in the music industry depending on how it is done, but in this case please don't accuse the band of theft when this is legal and by-the-books. Hopefully this clears some things up! <3

I remember going on a date to the beach with my girlfriend and playing this song on repeat for 30 minutes.

It is such a warm, beautiful song. I remember the sand, carrying her in the water, having our little picnic, and driving an hour to this weird ice cream shop in the rain. But it was all worth it because i was with her. I'm still young, but it brings me back to the honeymoon phase.
