In the first established cities, protection against the enemy was kept in the forefront and the cities were built on heights, on top of the rocks in the view of the castle. In later cities, transportation, supply of water and energy resources, distribution and use of these resources were taken into consideration firstly. Cities in general; water, energy resources and close to transportation was established in the region.

Urbanization results in industrialization and economic developments, the increase in the number of cities and the growth of existing cities.

Great video! Shows that, by 1985, Athens had already been built up, which explains why the only areas of considerable development during the timelapse are mostly the ones in east Attica due to the creation of the new airport.
