Actually you can just click in the battery if you use a little more manual force 😊. Actually it's a decent drill and I have expanded the v20 tools over time of 3yrs doing numerous renovating projects around 3 houses. I think the Stanley line is great for a handyman/homeowner/ DIYer. With 85nm it's actually quite a powerful drill. I bought the body only as I already had 2x 6.0mah battery and like 4x 2.0mah due to different starter packs. The bigger battery last for a few days on heavy use. The smallest a few hours to a working day. I already have the drill and was definitely missing on the hammering function when having to drill some holes in masonry and brick. So I when I was shopping around I found this exact body only kit on sale and am pleasantly surprised it actually is able to drill the occasional holes even in our tough concrete walls. It doesn't really go like knife through butter, but it does get it done. When you need to drill multiple holes repeatedly in such hard surface..I still strongly suggest a proper rotary drill, it makes things quick and easy.

But for someone looking for a decent drill that mostly drills in the softer materials and need it also for fastening screws etc.. this thing is absolutely perfect for it and I believe it makes no sense getting the version without the hammer function. This is the superior of the 2 drills

Battery's are the important 's, 2AH are not enough, at least 4 to 5 ah...the powertools are great ...can be battle, better
