I make about $3, 600 monthly revenue on Etsy. The problem with building a brand is that my store sells... *everything* meaning it is not solely focused on one niche market with which I can build a community or brand around. Would opening up a shopify account be worth a shot? The only way I see at the moment to drive traffic through my website would be with business cards thrown into the packaging of every order I get in Etsy. Is this allowed? Also what is your advice overall, is there a way to have my website which sells a variety of different items and build a community, following, email list around that? Thanks!
P.S. - Profit from etsy seem to be around 60-70% at most since they have implemented a 15% fee on top of all of the other fees if a seller clicks on a etc Ad and purchases through your shop. No complains I'd rather have sales then no sales. But looking to have my own site as well and not solely depend on Etsy as that is not a business model. The plug can be pulled at anytime through their discretion.

What if you are starting from scratch??? I have a Shopify store and plan to drive traffic to the store with social media marketing and build my brand that way. Let's say I do really well with my own brand using my Shopify store. In this case, is it still a good idea to add my products on Etsy, or will that tarnish my brand?? Thanks in advance!!!
