Dementia from the Inside Out

"I liken dementia to cancer in the 1960's, or AIDS in the 1980's. An incurable disease spoken of in hushed voices, as if, if we don't speak of it it will go away, and if we do speak too loud we will be mortally embarrassed. So I refuse to live with dementia on those terms."

Presentation in the Rector's Forum by Tracey Lind and Emily Ingalls at All Saints Church, Pasadena, on Sunday, January 27, 2019.

As a 20 year care partner for my husband who has primary progressive multiple sclerosis with legions on his brain and spinal cord, his executive functioning, processing, and central nervous system are really compromised. I REALLY appreciated hearing Emily's perspective, there are many similarities on our journeys. And I am so amazed that Tracey is still so articulate and able to do public speaking, you both are INCREDIBLY inspiring! THANK YOU
