Brake checker

I'm not sure what this person's problem was. I was empty and was up to the 80km speed limit by the end of the bridge. They had lotsa time to pass safely but felt the need to express their rightful ownership of the public Hwy.

Time and date are wrong but the EGAAM01 is one of our company (EGA) ambulance (AM01) cameras I borrowed because mine was down.

An overwhelming amount of you have been supportive in the comments section, and I thank you all for that.

That being said, I would like to address those detractors that believe I wronged the 4 wheeler and deserved to be “punished”.

What the video does not show is the view to my right when I pulled up to the stop sign. When I pulled out, the 250 meters of what I could see of the hwy was clear of traffic. And, as some of you negative commenters are so very fond of, I will make my own assumptions now.

The person driving the white car, I assume, must have been doing much more than the speed limit in order for them to catch me before I’d reached the speed limit (80 kph/50 mph) by the time I’d crossed over the bridge, so this person can 🖕.

Further, to those basement dwellers, I offer this…

Was the vehicle you drive (if you’re even old enough to drive) manufactured in your home town? Was the fuel you put in said vehicle (assuming the old enough to even drive scenario) created and refined at your local gas station? We’re the groceries you bought grown and/or manufactured at your local supermarket?

And, finally, was the electronic device you so willingly used to disparage myself and the trucking community as a whole, manufactured at the store you purchased it from?

If not, then, GO FUCK YOURSELVES! Try living without what truckers bring you every day, then you can treat us like dirt. 🖕

Sometimes trucks have pille onto the roadway in front of me, I think aggh but realise they need to keep rolling and take the opertunity to do so wherever and whenever they can. Have I thought to overtake the truck and brake

I've seen my share of trucks pulling out at inopportune times.. It's inconvenient but seldom dangerous. Brake checking a truck is about the same as pushing the big guy at a bar, you're not going to win. Just pass the guy and move on.

They just had a dashcam video on the local news. Car brake-checked a truck, truck jack-knifed into the central divider. On the 401 highway, the busiest in North America. News said the car driver has been charged. What they didn't say is that the car driver's insurance will be paying for a new tractor/trailer (250k), cargo (50k?) and the roll-out of police, fire and highway crews (100k? -they bill BIG here).
So along with a ticket for $150(?) the idiot's going to loose it when they renew their insurance and there's a zero added at the end of the premium. Insurance in the area is at least $1500 a year (with a safe, low steal car and a perfect driving record and no claims) and it's not uncommon for drivers with some (bad) history to get quotes of up to 30k a year.
As bad as it is, it's still better than if the truck had hit them. Truckers can be assholes, but that doesn't make brake-checking them right OR worth it.

It's about time that this sort of behavior was seen as a criminal offence with severe penalties. it is so dangerous. Akin to threatening with a gun. never mind three and out, do this once and licence lost for good.

That turbo sounded sweet & strong. Driver was running thru the gears quickly. No reason to brake check him. If I was driving, I would have spooled the turbo higher and drove his azz into the snow bank and kept hauling azz.
