The goron that makes the giant's knife is better than whoever is supposed to make weapons in botw

Headcanon: Kokiri sword was made by gorons originally. What if originally they had a much closer connection before the Hyrule civil war, and the a goron gave them a weapon before sealing the tunnel to the lost woods as a last show of support, before they had to put their people first? It's just a theory and I have next to zero evidence, but that's what I love about not having answers for every question.

On my last playthrough of OoT, I got the Biggoron Sword as soon as physically possible - I think right after the Forest Temple - and used it exclusively until the final boss.

After playing Zelda games my whole life, I never put together that "biggoron" was literally "big goron". That just blew my mind

The Kokiri Sword may also exist cause of the Great Deku Tree who adopted the infant Link whom he recognized as being destinied for great things! Its also possible the sword itself make be a relic of the Hyrulean Civil War which was still raging when Link was born! I mean its possible some Kokiri fought to protect the Forest and I wouldn't be surprised if the war caused a spike in monster activity possibly due to the dark influence of the Interlopers' magic which is known to have corrupting effect as shown by the power of the Fused Shadow which could turn a leader of the Gorons and a Yeti wife onto boss monsters!

The Biggoron Sword is legendary due to it being forged by Biggoron for the Hero of Time, after acquiring the eyedrops he needed! Giant's Knife is just a poor quality version created by Medigoron, Biggoron's brother who isn't as talented at sword smithing!

The smaller brother needs SEVEN YEARS to forge a sword that breaks after no more than a few hits, but the bigger brother only needs a few days to forge a sword that NEVER breaks. It's pretty obvious which brother is better at forging swords.

It's crazy how a sword made by an emoji with arms and legs is stronger than a sword made by literal goddesses

I don't know the damage values exactly but fun fact, despite doing more damage generally, Biggoron's Sword does less damage to Ganon/Ganondorf than the Master Sword.

Giant's Knife, aka the Temu Sword

Fun fact: The deku stick shares properties with the master sword. That why it can be used to defeat Ganon.

The Kokiri Sword represents the elemental force the Kokiri represent: Courage. It's located in the one place in the Forest (Bar the forest temple!) that the Kokiri have access to that contains any danger whatsover. It's also unlikely that the Deku Scrubs react to a proper Kokiri like they do to Link, who is a Hylian.

To a Kokiri, braving the rolling death ball in an eternal loop through a crawl-hole is a test of bravery far greater than anything they will normally have to deal with. It represents the trust that Farore put in the hands of her champion people. The bravery of heroes to come from the source of life. If you look at the angle that Farore takes off from the ground when she's creating life in the beginning of the world, it's almost exactly where the Kokiri Sword is located. The Kokiri sell shields carved from the wood of the first thing to arguably ever live (The Great Deku Tree) and Kokiri heroes likely wield the first tool ever created to end life, embodying the ineffable knowledge that life must sometimes be ended to protect other life... and with it, the courage to do what is necessary to protect the world.

The Kokiri Sword is the razor line between innocence and necessity and the courage required to cross that threshold, to take up arms in the face of real danger, to strike down evil in the name of what is right.

In Majora's Mask, the Kokiri Sword can be tempered into the Razor Sword, but dulls back down to its original shape if used too many times before being properly infused with gold dust. Gold, in japanese culture, traditionally relates to mental power. By tempering the Kokiri Sword to the Gilded Sword, you infuse the tool of courage and childhood innocence with the might of memory and heroism. You turn childhood memories to gold and grow stronger... and even unbreakable with them.

Fun fact the broken giant's knife does the same damage as the kokiri sword

I like to imagine the kokiri sword is a hidden treasure because it was once needed but no longer is, like maybe it was used to protect the village or find the safe location but now theyre safe and peaceful so its just a reminder of whats no longer needed for their survival

Theory:The kokiri sword was an older incarnation of link’s sword.

Biggoron Sword is only thing that makes this games bearable

The kokiri might be a peaceful people but they also live in the forest with the deku the wolfos moblins and skull kids... They clearly learn to defend themselves

Even the kokiri tribe understands that if you want peace, you have to prepare for war!

I imagine the sword is from a different era all together, before they had the protection of the lost woods. They eventually disarmed and held onto 1 sword just in case, locking it away until it's needed.

Kokiri is a tool to get through dense vegetation.

I like to think that the Kokiri sword played a similar roll to that of Sting from LotR. It was a special blade forged by another group that was later taken as treasure by an adventuring kokiri, to later be brought home and hidden away.
