I love how you call the ground the floor. It always gets a smile from me.

Thank you for being somewhat midline with the sucker extremeness. So many channels push removing all suckers. After an awful 2 years of health issues, following the birth of my youngest, I worked up the strength to start seedlings last year and after all of the work and preparation, I pruned and trained to one leader and removed all suckers. What a colossal disappointment. I harvested a greater yield off of literally one plant in my first year, than I did in total of my dozen or so single leader Toms.

This is my first year growing tomatoes, and I've gone all out with 5 different varieties, but with the info I've gathered from you and kevin, I'm quite confident I'll be able to provide for the tomatoes lovers in the family

Only cut the bottom affected leaves. Everyone that over prunes ends up with a skeleton of a tomato plant

I like this video because it focuses more on achieving air flow rather than the complete irradication of suckers

Should I also do this for smaller bush tomatoes?

I would love a video on how to get rid of spider mites and gnats that lay eggs in the soil. It’s killing me right now!!😩😩
Grow everything in containers because we have lots of deer around here that will eat everything. 😅

Why is airflow so important with tomatoes? Is it to increase steam strength?

If seed stock is unknown, can you deeming if they are determinate or not by visual inspection at any early growth stage?

Been farming since 18 now 34, i don't wanna do the math on that, lol, i have found that pruning the flowers and leaving all the leaves gives you very large and high quality, flavorfull tomatoes, with a beautiful plant structure that gets beautiful air flow. On a large scale its simply just not feasible, unless youre Japanese and selling them like those 10, 000$ melons, but at a home garden 40% shade nets keep the bugs away. Remove it gradually once your flower falls off and the baby tomatoes are about to form so they dont get sun burn, eventually after a few days of acclimation you want them to sun ripen, trust me its the best way to flavor, also remember not to over water once your tomatoes are in the growing stage they will break/pop, especially because there is less tomatoes on the plant... Even tried this method dry farming early girls and medley cherry tomatoes, in sandy-clay, river bed alluvial deposits, with awesome results...

@jacques in the garden my tomato plants have finished for the season, can I compost the plants or do they have to go to landfill?

Do you have a problem with cutworms ever? I tried to do tomatoes in the past and the cut worm would eat every single leaf off the plant. Annoying I’ve never see it until all the leaves were gone and then, oh, there it is.
