Sheed took on the legendary Yao Ming for a couple matchups during their time in the NBA and Bonzi had the chance to play with Yao for a few seasons in Houston. Sheed says it was a unique challenge because even in a sport where everyone is tall, Yao stood out.

Injuries derailed what could've you been an all, time great talent. Yao had one of the nicest strokes for a big man in history

Those injuries hit right when he was poised to be on of the greats. Right when he was finding his groove. It was great to see him play in Houston.

Aw man I remember, first time the Pistons were playing Houston with Yao, everybody’s all hyped up to see Yao go up against that defense, then he gets fouled, goes to the line, the arena’s quiet as it usually is for 2nd quarter free throws, and the floor microphone picks up Sheed’s voice. “YAO MING AIN’T GONNA GET SHIT!” I miss Sheed’s free throw line antics…best FT defender in nba history.
