Polarr has since been updated and now it’s forced portrait (ugh) and just shockingly bad. I’m so disappointed it was SO good!

Alot of issues I notice with these apps they are optimized for right handed people it's a pita covering the screen whilst at the same time trying to view

I dig your videos. I’d like to see how you use CC on your iPad. I just switched to an all-iOS editing workflow.

Hi Emily, nice video as always. Some good ideas there for different editing tasks. I took delivery of my iPad Pro last week and like you I’m loving it. Finished editing a music video on it which I started on my iPhone using LumaFusion and it was a revelation. Anyway, in my quest to go (almost) entirely mobile device what I have been looking for is an alternative to all of the photoshop mobile photos (Mix, Fix, Express etc) - ie something which could do layers based editing and pull off common PC edits like stitching panos, focus stacking etc. Been bowled over by Affinity photo. It’s the nearest thing to a working desktop photoshop on iOS that I’ve seen and it’s only £10 permanently!
For me it’s not going to replace LR which is best for organising and cataloguing photos across devices but it might enable me to ditch PS which I rarely use as I don’t like to edit on my PC.
I thought you’d mentioned that in one of your previous years’ videos but can’t see it and wondered if I’d been thinking of another editor like Luminar? Anyway, I see others have mentioned Affinity in the comments and am interested to know if you’ve tried it and don’t like it, or haven’t tried it yet?

Hi great video thanks. Slightly unrelated question from a fellow iPad user, if you don’t mind - do you advise a screen protector for the iPad Pro. Mainly asking whether it is necessary for its safety. I use a lot of pencil in case that matters. By the way, one year later, which app do you like among the ones in the video. Thanks!

Further to mentions of it below, I’m looking forward to getting to grips with Affinity Photo, having bought it after a 40 plus year relationship with Serif as a customer, and (programs purchased by me) tester of all but one of their Software applications. I almost bought their video editing package years ago, but they told me not to, because they weren’t happy with it, which speaks volumes about their integrity imho. They have great tutorials, and customer forums, and listen to their customers. Frankly, I wish they’d put their minds into creating a secure Operating System.
Anyway, my G95 Camera body has now left Singapore en route from Hong Kong, cheap tripods look ok for lights and shotgun mic mount - still doubtful about bothering with doing any video though, and after seeing a 6 month review of the K&F Concept TM2324 tripod able to handle up to 10kg, I snapped one up at a great price, knowing the minor flaws in it that are easy to rectify, especially with some preventative epoxy reinforcing . Beware! There are a lot of Fakes of these tripods, aluminium, rather than mag alloy, with dramatically reduced load carrying as a result, and some of the cheap K&F tripods perhaps suitable for mounting mobile phones, attempting to be passed off as the heavier duty 2324. So inspect adverts closely. Not Black, and no orange stickers, and no mention of magnesium, plus no mention of load capacity, is a dead giveaway on most. The Switchpod ball mount has left the supplier, but is still stuck in California, and it may be taking advantage of a cheap Cruise before crossing the Atlantic. Keep safe, and best wishes to you all. Bob.

Great video as always. I'm slowly catching up after having my OM-D 6 months now. It's even survived a cyclist wiping it and my tripod out one day 20 feet into the air! I nearly cried. I can't really tell between a poster size picture I shot printed from a high end jpeg and one from raw. But everyone says you must shoot raw... So, even though olympus has its own edit program, I watched this video to get some ideas and even tried some out. I understand the need to shy away from corps like apple and adobe etc. and not being a slave to them. However, I did try Adobe's Creative Cloud for a free trial and was fairly impressed. For a tenner a month lightroom's editing bells and whistles are standard but you get lots of apps and desktop photoshop as well. All my now raw files are stored in the same resolution they were taken in for me to edit or view from ANYWHERE. I can have my desktop on, my tablet or tablets, my smart phone and my WiFi enabled camera all on and sharing and editing in real time at the same time. (Helpful when going through the many tutorials). I'm sure there are similar packages out there but as a newbie I'm unaware. My personal lesson is just don't be a slave to the big companies for the help of it. (thanks again, all your vids are real eye openers!)

What about ones that you can select certain areas of the photos? Such as faces that are in shadow and stuff?

I had the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil for 2 years, bought a bunch of software, and tried and tried but just couldn't do it. I often feel like I'm "forcing" the whole experience. I've decided I must be too old at age 46 to get it after 2 years... much like you and Olympus menus. I'm selling my iPad and stupid expensive accessories... going back to the good old keyboard and mouse.

Fantastic! Polarr looks awesome, I have the previous gen iPad Pro with the pencil v1, Mrs F has the new fancy one like yours, reckon it should still work well for me though while travelling :) now to find an iPad video editor that isn’t Rush... :)
