The background of the Needle Galaxy is full of distant objects just waiting to be picked apart and researched. One doesn't need a giant mirror telescope to find objects hundreds of millions of light-years away. This was captured with my refractor telescope.

Needle Galaxy (NGC 4565)

Imaging Telescope:
Explore Scientific 127mm ED Refractor (952 focal length)

Focuser:
MoonLite 2.5" Focuser with Motor Auto-Focus

That moment when you realize our universe is so vast, that something to the scope of Star Wars could easily be going on somewhere out there.

Literally gave me the chills. We’ll never know what is happening in those galaxies, yet, with the proper equipment, we can see them from our own backyards. One of the main reasons I love is stargazing is because it’s literally like looking into the past.

The only YouTube short that was worth watching and actually learning something

The craziest thing about space is that even though we see these galaxies now doesn't mean they are still around. Since it takes light so long to reach us means by the time we physically see the galaxy go out means it's been out for a while.

I was just looking at some of the little IC galaxies near the Whirlpool and found they were around 130 and possibly 230 Mly... 430 is crazy.

The coolest thing about this is if we were positioned differently in the universe this needle galaxy might look like a massive saucer instead. Truly stunning.

Thanks. Can't do much though to thank you. Please accept my appreciation by accepting the small amount . 🙏🏼

This is the sole reason I started studying astrophysics. It's so fascinating to know that we are so tiny in this extremely big, vast continuum of space, and what we don't know about it. Nice picture my friend

I can hear this man's soul as he describes with an almost reverent awe the sheer span of the multitude of galaxies in our universe.

Remember the moment you realized that every single visible object in Space is seen from the past?

Even Our Own Moon is 1.3 Light Seconds Away, and our Own Sun is around 8 Light Minutes Away.

It’s amazing, I’m about 90% sure there’s something or someone out there looking back at us

The deeper you look, the more mind-blowing it is.

Something about the incredible distance to these objects makes everything seem so small, and for a brief moment I get a sense of peace.

I absolutely love the fact that the light from these galaxies is finally making its way to us from before the existence of dinosaurs! With so many other galaxies like our own, it's impossible to argue we're alone..
