This is huge! Apple could decide to add more performance cores in future M generations seeing how cold and good thermal they got in m2

You guys should start doing gaming tests. Games like Resident Evil 8 and No Mans Sky at high resolutions will really push both gpu and cpu cores. Would be interesting to see how all the chips stack up in various games, I’m sure Airs would struggle

The high performance and the low heat is due to the high core count. It's a beast.

I bought the M2 Max studio with 38 core GPU and 64 GB ram.. Love to see that comparison to this.. Thanks

Seeing a mac studio absolutely blow my ryzen pc out of the water while barely breaking a sweat in that form factor is eye watering. The days of apple struggling with intel chips is over. Now they’ve built a monster.

Very impressive early results! Can you also run the Octane and Redshift benchmarks during the Mac Pro testing? I'm really curious to see how the full 76 GPU cores perform on those benchmarks.

I’d like to see 3D graphics softwares like blender if they can bring this thing to its limit

m3 ultra is where competition with 4090 will ramp up or get close to the next gen nvidia gpu.

You should use stable diffusion for your GPU stress tests. It would also be interesting to see how the performance compares to Nvidia's chips.

You should’ve ordered M2 Max and M2 Vadim

CB23 score of ~28k makes it as fast as a stock 12900k at a fraction of the power....nice.

Wildlife Extreme peaking at 83w for that performance is very impressive.

Definitely looking forward to the full fat M2 Ultra review with the Mac Pro.

If you're going to use WoW as a test for native performance (as you've done in the past) with the Mac Pro review, make sure to go into areas that tax it properly like Ardenweald in Shadowlands (major GPU test) or Valdrakken in Dragonflight (major CPU hit along with GPU).

Maybe invest in a proper AMD/Intel rig (7900xtx / 4090 / 4080 along with a 13900k / 7950x3d) to do real world performance comparisons to modern hardware outside of Apple vs Apple.

I'm happy to see you got a max for testing. Seems like everyone else is just doing Ultra videos. Thank you for that

Any differences if you maxed out the fan in TG Pro and run the tests?

Holy cow that’s awesome! I saw how fast it was blazing thru cinebench, and that was the fastest I’ve ever seen a computer do it. At certain points, with each cycle it almost looked like it made an entire revolution filling in those little squares. And the fans were off/barely on the whole time?!
I actually have an idea you guys could use in a video in the future. This all made me wonder what would happen if you guys tried putting a copper plate - or if that’s not possible, even regular old thermal pads you use in the MacBook Air - to use as a heatsink inside the 16 inch MacBook Pro. I’m sure the bottom case would get really hot, but don’t you think that it would keep the CPU from hitting 108° which results in the keyboard and trackpad getting really warm? Plus I would think that would just help the fans get the system cool faster once they do ramp up, so doing really tough tests like running Cinebench and 3D Mark stress test at the same time wouldn’t hit it as hard. But anyway that’s my idea for a future video.

You should have done the torture test with Cinebench R23 and 3d mark wild life extreme stress test at the same time ...

no bad for 'on-chip inbuilt graphics". could you imagine a 3090Ti built into an Intel 13900k 🙂 it would be HOT !
