Показать описание
The Beaufort Singers, directed by Joseph Wicks, commemorate the hundredth anniversary of the November armistice that ended the First World War by performing Owain Park’s ‘For the fallen’ in the chapel of Downing College, Cambridge.
The work was written for The Beaufort Singers and Joseph Wicks in November 2016 and was first performed at the choir’s inaugural concert in the chapel of St John’s College, Cambridge.
The text is by Lawrence Binyon, set famously by other composers as well being adopted by the Royal British Legion as its Exhortation for ceremonies of Remembrance to commemorative the fallen of all conflicts.
The work has been recorded by Trinity College Choir, directed by Stephen Layton.
