He's just likable. He's that friend that gets all the attention in the room wherever he goes. Had a friend like that. Sadly he passed, but he was just like Matt. Bigger than life.

Matt is the best food critic going, hands down!

I live in England and started watching these films when I couldn't sleep but now they are one of the first things I look for, really good fun.

I live in Northwest Tennessee and Milo's tea is everywhere. I didn't know they were a prominent fast food joint.

My mother used to work for Jack's and I miss the food! I also miss the old men gathered around the table drinking coffee and talking politics.

I legit thought that Milos only sold sweet tea. We don't have the restaurants up here in TN but you can find their bottled sweet tea at Dollar General and man is it good.

I ate at Milo's once 8 years ago while delivering coils somewhere outside of Mobile. It was delicious. That sauce and the seasoning sets them apart.

the guy that started taco casa had originally been with taco bell and left them to start taco casa when they started changing their recipes.

I didn't know Jacks was an Alabama mainly food place until I went to college in Georgia and mentioned stopping at Jacks on the way back from home. Everyone was very confused about who Jack was and then I realized they are almost only in Alabama. My last year of college though they built a location right next to my college and I was happy to have that taste of home back.

I'm glad you included Foosackly's because none of those others is available in the Southwest Alabama area.

Matt, you are so much fun! I worked at Taco Casa for several years; it is still my favorite Mexy fast food; so much so that even living in Georgia I make it over to the Homewood store every time I visit my dad! What you had was Beefy Nachos, but I think you might have like the Messe Nachos more. Yes, you do get them wrapped up like party leavings, but they are made with the Casa's own recipe chili and cheese (optional jalapenos) and so tasty. The burritos (beef or beef and bean; none of that rice-on-a-burrito mess) and sanchos (beef with lettuce; wayyy better than it sounds) are also strong contenders. One of the greatest things about the Casa was the ownership, because they made you feel like part of their family. Thank you for including it in your countdown!

All of these look delicious but I'm totally mesmerised that there are drive-thru barbecue joints you felt a need to exclude. Alabama has just jumped up several places on the list of locations I need to visit.

The Conecuh sausage puts Milos over the top with Alabamaness.

I'm so glad to see some Milos love. I moved to Missouri a few years back and Milos is on the top of my cravings list. I wish I could figure out how to make that sauce!

I have lived in Michigan my whole life (Dad lived in Mobile when he was younger) and we get a case of Conecuh delivered to us a couple times a year.
