I can understand why they didn't leave it in (not super flashy or exciting, no real plot importance) but I like this scene. It makes Tony seen more like an engineer and less like a wizard.

My dads a machinist, this scene is awesome they should have left it in, showed how good Tony Stark was at machining/designing.

The automated production of his suits always bugged me as any automated process needs dozens of hours of debugging and tweaking to get it right.
