Webb Captures New Views Of Star-Forming Region

NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has taken two new images of the star-forming region NGC 604, located in the Triangulum galaxy, 2.7 million light-years away from Earth.

Sheltered among these dusty envelopes of gas are more than 200 of the hottest, most massive kinds of stars, all in the early stages of their lives. The largest of these stars can have more than 100 times the mass of our own Sun.

How stars are born and how they interact with their environments are two big questions in astronomy today that are actively being studied with the Webb telescope. In this new image, Webb is showing us parts of the story of star formation that we could never see before, revealing more about the universe and our place in it.

I can’t appreciate the people enough who make these videos for NASA. The bgm, narration and tailored duration adds up to an awe inspiring experience.

I’m so happy that Webb got an image of NGC 604, one of my favorite star forming nebulas! 😍
If it can get these detailed images of the Triangulum Galaxy, I’d love to see what it can do with the Andromeda Galaxy.

Those images looks like if the space is more dense than other images. Thanks to brings to us such impressive material.

Always waiting for new pictures of JWST.

The stars' resemblance to fireflies escaping a jar sparks my curiosity about their origins. The narrator mirrors my wonder, asking the same question. I'm filled with gratitude for the JWST, and it's surreal to see it all unfolding now.

Always look for bubbles. Either outflows or explosions. Either way, neat physics!
🖖😎👍
P.S. More Quindar tones in aisle 3 please.

Can someone tell me what is the "cloud" thing in this image? Is that many planets? Space dust?

Early stages to us but probably much older due to time dilation and speed of light not to mention our incorrect concepts of what time is

I have difficulties imagining the scales described. Diameters, hundreds of times the size of our sun, or light, trillions of times brighter than our sun. Then, to think that we can only see the light from 13.2 billion years ago due to the vast distances involved. A black hole, of the size theorized, exploding ... could that be the source of the big-bang?

For new people: these images are not what we would see.

Funfact: those red clouds smell like raspberries.

Looking at this magnificent thing I know we are not alone, I know this not because of the pictures, but 1 night last July 12th 2023 I saw with my own eyes a fleet of various sized flying objects, so advanced no sound, no propulsion, no wings and the size of 1 of the object like a matt black in colour is the size of a football field, I tell you this because it really happened, and i thank God that I woke up the misses so that she could witness it to.
I never tell people face to face because they look at me like I'm mad, but I know what a saw on that beautiful night, and I'm grateful. And a question that pondered my mind all my life has been answered.
