I took accutane for half a year without any side effect! The secret is i ate a whole plate of fruits and veggies and drank 3-4 liters of water every single day!!

Just got my ipledge packet last week, and starting Accutane in a month! I’m so nervous for the side effects but I can’t stand dealing with chronic acne anymore and hiding from the shame. Hopefully my journey isn’t too bad 💜

I’m so happy for you 😭 I’ve been struggling with adult acne, and i think it’s time.

I am literally in the EXACT same boat as you! Same timeline, same drugs, and now I really want to take Accutane. I am so done with dealing with acne now that I am 27... I hope in my next appointment, I will be prescribed Accutane! Thank you for making this video :)

our stories are really similar - I tried doxy, spiro, tretinoin, and clindamycin before I went on Accutane because I was nervous. Glad your skin cleared up! I'm on week 1 of Accutane, hoping this finally helps.

Thank you for sharing your skin journey!! I also suffered from a rare side effect of doxycycline in 2011. It was such a crazy feeling!
I’m so thankful you addressed the power we as patients have over choosing our own doctors. There are physicians out there that will work with you and fully listen! Kayla, you are so inspiring and I appreciate your transparency on your channel!

I had cystic acne in my late teens and went on this 20 years ago. I’m glad it exists but it is a very personal decision to decide to go on the med especially for women. Happy it worked for you and seems like you are beaming from the results!

So nice to hear about your experience and that everything worked out in the end! I haven't had insane acne but now that I'm 33 and I'm finally using skincare consistently my skin is clear for the first time in my life. It's a weird feeling!

Thank you so much for all the information. I feel a lot more comfortable now! I just started accutane (sadly right when it’s starting to get hot where I am😭) but I’m so excited to finally feel relief and feel comfortable in my own skin once my skin clears up.

Thank you so much for this. I’m an esthetician and I’m so insecure especially in the industry I work in. I just signed up for ipledge last week and did my first urine pregnancy test. I go for blood work at the end of March and see my dr for my first accutane prescription on April 1st. I know this stuff works wonders and I have a lot of background knowledge but I’m still very nervous because I do suffer from depression. I’ve tried everything I could think of from otc to prescription retinols to microneedling and so on but nothing seems to work. This makes me feel so relieved and excited to have clear skin and to be confident in my own skin again. You look amazing and I’m so glad it worked for you!

I was put on spironolactone when I was younger and, as she said, it's also used to treat high blood pressure. The problem is I have naturally very low blood pressure and so even the minimum dose would cause me to faint. Accutane was the only thing that cured my acne. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Kayla for sharing detailed information. I am about to start my Accutane journey. I am really worried about side effects. Especially related to eyes. I already have vision issues on my left eye and worried if its gonna effect to my eyes. I am mid twenties and dealing with cystic hormonal acne. My teenage years or until I turn 24 had no skin issues at all and now I don't even wanna leave home. Its definitely effecting my mental health.

This is literally what happened to me...except mine started in my mid 30's! Out of nowhere my body decided it didn't like sugar anymore (Took me 6 years to figure out it was sugar). I'm 41 now and will be starting isotretinoin on Dec. 1st.. I'm so excited!

I was on Accutane when I was in high school, it worked wonders on my back. Still have some scars but no adverse side affects.
