Yet again I missed a pretty obvious connection to the Extinction in this one, so expect some theories on that at the start of next weeks review!

Just wanted to note that all we have confirmation of is that Sam *tried* to search for Magnus and Protocol, we don't yet know if it actually got him anything when he tried. I think it's possible that the search function is deliberately broken and is designed to just alert people higher up in the OIAR if any of the workers start pulling on specific threads, and that Fr3-di stepped in and redirected that alert to Alice to try and help Sam not get caught.

In Gertrude's defence if 2 complete strangers came to my house at 6 in the morning inquiring about details of my personal life I would be rather guarded as well.

This episode reminded me a lot of MAG 48: Lost in the Crowd.

As others have said, this episode immediately reminded me of MAG156. Both episodes are strikingly similar:
- Someone goes an abandoned human settlement and is seemingly transported to another reality, where this settlement is operational and populated by strange, bizarrely thin, and ravenous parodies of people who have this strong hunger for human flesh and attack the person who entered. Dekker believed that MAG156 was tied to The Extinction which could point to this statement also being that. The ties to architecture and liminal spaces do feel very Extinction, and whether it is or not, the fact that the episodes are so similar is definitely very interesting.

Also: "avatars from TMA may still be alive and show up". _Here's how Agnes Montague can still win..._

7:20 transported somewhere?
How about that tma when the guy went to a looking glass universe with the really thin ppl that tried to eat him?
Ep called Reflection

This most recent episode reminded me a lot of the extinction. Specifically of the episode with the fun house mirrors, mag 156: reflection. In mag 156 there are people who acted in much the same way as the patrons of the restaurant. Which I thought was really cool.
Love your videos

I agree that Celia is going to be the same Celia from the TMA universe - and she's looking for others that made the jump.
It's why she asked who voiced the text to speech system.
I don't know if you've covered it because this is my first of your videos I've seen but, I'm 100% convinced that Jonny/Martin also made the leap but became *ghosts in the machine* doomed to continue their work for the watcher.
Great video!

This and the last episode with the people (whatever the congregation was and the diners and workers in this episode) feel like the stranger in that they seem to be false approximations of people. The fact that they only really seem to repeat the same lines "you are here" and "it's all for a good cause", it feels like perhaps rather than make avatars or monsters to specifically scare people, they're trying to assimilate better, become in reality rather than work from the fringes. Maybe crossing the multiverse helped them "evolve" somehow.

It's exceptionally creepy and I'm so here for whatever has changed with how the fears work. Looking forward to your video about the ARG!

Something I haven't see anyone talk about when it comes to this episode is that Gwen accused Alice of "deliberately finding talkers and leaving them running" which implies the OIAR employees can somehow sort through the files and know which ones will be read out loud before they select them (same way Jon just knew wich staments were real and didn't bother recording the false ones) but Alice herself told both Sam and Celia that what cases get read by Chester/Norris/Augustus is completely random and there's no way to know beforehand
So either Alice lied to Sam & Celia or she is unaware she can tell which cases will get read (maybe she is lying to herself about it, pretending she can't the same way season 1 Jon tried to pretend he didn't believe any of the staments because he was afraid)
Or maybe Gwen can tell which ones will be read out loud and just assumes everyone else can too regardless of whatever Alice can tell as well or not
There's also the possibility that whoever is inside the computer is trying to say something to Alice specifically and that's why she is getting more "talkers" than anyone else (and the fact that she explicitly says she doesn't listen to them, doesn't even stay in the same room while they are running, just scans them for key words later can't be a coincidence, maybe her insisting on ignoring them makes Freddy more prone to put them in front of her to get her attention or maybe it's the other way around and she ignores them because the program gives her so many and it makes her feel overwhelmed if she tries to listen to them all, since the "talkers" are the real ones)

14:10 I'm pretty sure that the leightners aren't tied to leightner in any way other than the bookplate. The books are just another aspect of the fears leaking into the world. So there might not have been a jurgen leightner but the books would still exist

I’ve always felt the fears as one entity … like how an ant can’t understand the finger that crushes it is part of a larger creature …. All the fears are one being .., with the fears being like different fingers on the same hand ….. but who knows :).

This statement really felt like both Stranger and Hunt, with maybe a bit off Dark in there.

Just a weird moment there when you were talking about the shattered sleeve of fears. You talked about the man jumping out the window to escape all the fears just seems symbolistic. That's a seeming that that theory is correct

Ok I have A Theory that may be nonsense, may be partially right but I need to get it out.

I think alternate versions of characters are coming through to the tmp universe as memories/dreams/visions. Specifically I think that is how the fears are spreading- as knowledge. Anyone whos voice was captured by the webs tapes and the Archivist watching is gaining awarness of their au self.

Thats not my theory. I think we need to think about the 90s. Here are 3 things that happened in the 90s of both timelines- in the tmp universe, the institue was testing (or experimenting on?) Gifted kids, including gerry and sam, before burning down. Freddy was built. In the tma universe, Jon, who would have been roughly gerry and sams age, got his first Mark, and encounter with the web, via the leitner he found.

So lets say the knowledge is coming thorough the universes out of order. Celia specifically mentions time travel, and weird time glitches where a hallmark of crossing universes in the og show. An institute dedicated to documenting the supernatural would take notice, especially if they (or jonah magnus himself) would be tracking them, piecing together the story. Now maybe the Fears came through retroactivly, and maybe reformed or splintered- they are ancient and alien gods after all. But the human knowledge, the memories only came through in the 90s- around when tma verse jon, the conduit, was marked.

I think the institute was looking for an English kid with weird knowledge of another universe to take control of the archives again. They had some duds like sam- smart but no real conection. Gerry though, he would be promising. Right age, history with leitners. So Gertrude took him to keep him from the institute. Notice how gerry seems... off in this episode? Notice the static in gerteudes voice? Maybe she has wiped his mind of all au knowledge somehow- giving him a happy normal life as her effective prisionor. (On brand).

Of course if the institute was searching for jon (and probably martin) maybe they found them. Maybe they died a long time ago, when the institute was burnt down. (By... the response department encacting the magnus protocal?) So all the memories and knowledge of jon and Martin, the centre of the webs plan, plus jonah, who, didnt have physical people as their au conterpoints- they had a computer system that harvests and documents fear and knowledge. They become freddy. And when they where actually blasted through the multipleverse in episode 200, fully opening the rift in hilltop road, they manifested fully- not as memories but ghosts in the machine, becoming the sentient voices of chester, norris and augustus.

We asume ist a different universe, but what is the TMA universe just kinda resettet and we see the people as they would be if the archive Was destroyed 20 years ago. And the people where never touched by the big fears. It would explain why These people are here.
