Bondi Rescue follows the work of the elite professional Lifeguards who patrol Australia’s busiest beach. This is Australia’s real life Baywatch! Taking the viewers on their journey through mass rescues, drownings, resuscitations, shark sightings, and all number of the weird and wonderful experiences Bondi Beach dishes up.

In #BondiRescue the audience sees the action through the eyes of real characters and #lifeguards like Hoppo, Deano, Reidy, Jesse, Maxi, Whippet and Harries, as they catch thieves, perform CPR, make drug busts, break up fights, and even handle a navy bomb that washes ashore one afternoon. Every year throws up new and completely unexpected challenges, and how lifeguards adapt is what makes Bondi Rescue a show that’s about much more than swimmers being saved in the surf.

I spent around 7 months in the hospital with covid in 2021. I wasn't supposed to make it. A less than 10% chance with a ventilator and ecmo. I was running out of the will and strength to keep pushing. Then I found this show. I watched it anytime I was awake in my room. It became the one thing I enjoyed and looked forward to. All that to say, he saved at least 1 other life that wasn't even in the water of Bondi from thousands of miles away. They may never know it, but these guys are heroes to me. I wouldn't have made it without them.

I did this for my fiancé who died in 2019. He was a surfer who loved the ocean and water and to be able to send him off in one of these is one of my most precious but saddest moments and memories I have. my in-laws gave me one of the two floating flower wreaths to keep and I still have one of the roses from it as a token of that day but also the fun and love he shared with me of the beach and ocean (and which we helped me with some of my fear of the ocean)

I actually remember him really well.
I learnt to surf around Norah head area and he was a bit of a legend in the 80s and 90s into the 00s. He was a great surfer and lifeguard. I can remember him training for the Hawaiian sea paddling he competed in. He would paddle his board from Norah head boat ramp around bird island and back. He was a champion of a person who put alot more into the community than most people will ever realise
