Numbers for iPad: Spreadsheet Functions and Formulas on iPad

Numbers has many built in functions and formulas available for use in each cell. Create your own specific formulas based off your unique information by writing your own, or choose from many common ones. To add a formula to a cell, double tap any cell and select the ( = ) option. Here is where you will be able to write your own and use some very basic functions like sum or date and time. If you require some more advanced functions tap the functions button once you have already selected the ( = ) options.

The Functions button will store many of your most recently used functions and also have an extensive list of common functions broken down by categories. So whether you need to use financial, statistical, trigonometric, engineering, or durations formulas you will have some options available to you. Unsure of what each functions is or does? Tap the " i " next to a functions to get a dictionary definition and also some examples of when that function may be used.
