For the people saying "BaTMaN iS pRotecTing a mUrDEerer", he wanted Zsasz alive to get answers. Superman sent Zsasz to kill Alfred because Alfred beat the crap out of him earlier for breaking Batman's back, and then wanted Zsasz dead to cover up his tracks.

And for those saying that he would rather kill Superman than a murderous psychopath, keep in mind that he wasn't actually going to kill Superman. He wanted to prove a point to Damian, that if he would kill people like Damian wanted then he should apply that logic to Superman as well. Superman had already killed tons of innocent people at that point, including Green Arrow, so I would say he counts as a deranged killer.
