Building a Mil-Spec Harness Part 1

In this episode we begin construction of out awesome Mil-Spec harness. We have an awesome bulkhead connector, high quality twisted wiring, Raychem DR-25 heat shrink, and lots of cool stuff to make this the best harness for the Z yet!

I am not a professional mechanic and the methods described in my videos are solely based on my research and intuition. I make mistakes and when I do, I try to point them out so others don't make the same mistakes. These videos are meant only as a description of what I was trying to do and how I went about doing it. Before attempting any service on your car, conduct your own research and use common sense.

I stopped the video at 19:43. I wanted to comment and say they make insertion tools (opposite of the extraction tools) for the pins so you can press them in and secure each pin

wrap tape around the needle nose pliers, the kit also came with 3 sizes for removing wires that could help installing but ive found needle nose really help on the plug connector side with socket terminals you have to grab on the wire and push thru the back, but pulling the pin terminals on the receptacle side is so much easier lol

...And foil tape for the shielding yep. Wow would love to get any details of you I could if possible - I have the same type of "milspec" style connector for mine would love to glean some secrets and uh... Save myself some time lol

Hey man do you think you could make a little doc or list on all the resources you used to learn how to make a wiring harness like this? I'd love to make one for my rb20 swapped 180sx but have no idea where to start. Cheers!

Where did you get those connectors from? Some rats got into my 86 z31 :( I need a few random ones and before looking at the car too much I wanted to do some research on diagrams or other things like that so I can be familiar with what I need and what I don't as well as what I should fix

i dont suppose you have that oin out diagram for the plug in a sheet that you could send over do you .
