Don't forget the cabin filter, 5-10 minute change (it looks like you have the cover off at 8:22 ) and the turbo models have a specific spark plug and socket so don't try to use the one in your toolbox.

You’re not lying about the transmission fluid, I fell for bmw’s “life time transmissions fluid” so I barely changed my tf at 168k. Man that tf looked like regular oil it was so black!!

Best thing you can do for you beamer is keep the oil changed and fresh. Like no more than 5k miles per oil change.

15+k intervals on these types of high performance engines is absolutely insane imo. Following that routine is just asking for long term engine problems. I do mine 2x a year before and after winter. I Also buy engine oil only when it’s half price as there’s always a sale on it.

Thanks for all your advice. I've tried a few times to fix the rough idle issue on start up for approx 20 seconds.
No fault codes.
Replaced vanos solenoids filters.
Cleaned vanos
Replaced sparkplug
Replaced valve cover due to oil leaks
Check spring inside filter housing ok
Yet to do replace vanos solenoids with genuine bmw and ecu update.
Your right about the transmission oil. That's one of the first thing I did plus I replaced the plastic pan with new bolts.
Any thoughts on this common issue

I had the same lifter ticking with Castrol 5w30 in my N52B30 when it was cold. Even when hot I could hear more valvetrain noise than usual.

One week later I changed to Fuchs 5w30 Titan GT1 Pro C-3 which works really well and all ticking noises went away after 2 heat cycles.

I think LL-04 is only recommended for petrol engines in Europe due to lower sulfur content in fuel. However, in other parts of the world stricter standards allow for <= 50 ppm for sulfur in our fuel. So unsure about ll04 outside europe

Good video which is handy because when the fluids start leaking out of your car which they will, you will know what to put back in…

Nice video, just purchased a 08 x5. A bit nervous about it. At times i hear a whine, and the steering is a bit heavy. Otherwise i love this machine..

I am new to bmw ownership
I have heard of amsoil having an oil good for 12k miles(19312 km). The only way I can consider only changing at long intervals on oil, changing the filter every 3-5k miles based on driving

The oil filler cap will make a bad seal if it's not totally clean. The oil will go into your spark plugs and cause misfires. Also the valvetronic motor gasket leaks and will do the same.
