The greatness of this Aussie side was suddenly there came a brilliant catch and runout and the match turned in their favour.

The time Inzimam use to have was phenomenal! Suddenly Bret Lee use to look a medium pacer when bowling to Inzii!

I think Watson came in at number eight. That’s one deep batting line up!

The Lord's straight boundary was used to be around 90 meter. That Sami's six was a mighty hit.

winning against the best team Aus in 2000's was an unfulfilled dream of almost every team..
Great days of childhood memory

1:30 Hayden starts his signature stroll down the wicket to attack, then simply caresses it straight. Class always looks beautiful.
Well bowled and it still went to the fence.
It was a magnificent team. When finding themselves in a spot of trouble there always seemed someone that stepped up for them. This time Symonds.

Came here to cherish a gem of an innings by Roy. 2022 has been quite rough… First Warnie and now Roy… Rest easy, mate. Gone too soon.

I remember watching this match live on TV back in September 2004. I was still in school. It was on a Saturday on Teacher's Day here in India. Brett Lee got hammered around the ground by Inzi and Yousuf (at the time he was still Youhana) but Aus held their nerve (or Pak lost theirs, you can never tell) to win by (a/the barest of) margin(s).

Pak cricket board ruined Yasir hameed's career. He was one of the finest opener in short period of time.
PS lnzy sir and Md Yousuf was true love.

One of the reason why Australia win this game because at that time there was one ball rule in odi which help the bowlers with reverse Swing in last 10 overs mainly and help them defend the total of 270+ which is impossible now a days that's why now odi's are ruined and mostly one sided and boring and we can see also double hundred by batsmen which was a humongous task that era
Note: many people in replies saying that Australian team was just legend at that time and as a cricket fan from 2000s I absolutely agreed with them, That team was the best team cricket can ever have but i stated the reverse swing factor which makes the 2000s decade odi's interesting rather than today's dull one sided odi

Inzamam is the greatest batsman of all time without any doubt because he was also the best match winner, he never played for his stats unlike some other greats. Hats off to a legendary batsman

My mind pictures of my favourite Aussie ODI XI
Hayden : Misty Mountain
Gilchrist : Smaug the fire breathing dragon on the Misty Mountain
Ponting : Popeye the sailor man
Symonds : muscled Spanish bull
Shane Watson : Shark in Jaws movie
Clarke : cold ruthless barbarian with a warm sophisticated face
Hussey : the guy who gets the job done
Warne : fat Achilles
Lee : sharpshooter assassin
Gillespie : rebirth of a Greek hero who fought under Leonidas at Thermopylae
McGrath : Micheal Jordan’s equal in cricket
