The employees at VS have NO CLUE how to size a bra. Go to a corset shop and get an old woman to size you

I worked at a high-end lingerie store when I was in college and I can tell you that 95% of the customers I had weren’t wearing the right size. Companies like VS and other big chain stores of the like will often lie or make compromises they shouldn’t make by selling the wrong size claiming it’s the same (before I had top surgery, I was a 28D, but another store I went to out of curiosity tried to sell me a 30C since it’s the “equivalent” which it is for the cup, not for the band size). Bras honestly shouldn’t be so expensive bc for a lot of people, a bra is a necessity, not a luxury, but in the 5 years I worked there, I learned that sometimes a good $100 bra is MILES better than a $40 bra and can last for years if you take care of them properly. Meaning that you will end up spending less on bras in the future

PS. Slightly off-topic but in case you’re the type of person who worries about the retail worker judging you over your body so you never ask for help (thus never being sure if you actually are buying the right size), trust me, we don’t notice the things you feel insecure about. I got so desensitized to seeing people in their underwear that they would have to point out that they didn’t shave their armpits or felt ashamed of their rolls or had backne for me to notice. Seriously. All I saw was whether the bra fit or not. None of my coworkers ever commented on a customer’s body either. So don’t be scared to ask for help, if the crew is professional, it might be beneficial for you in the end and you’ll be sure you’re wearing the right size from then on :)

laughs in VS putting me in a DD when I’m actually an H because it was the closest they had

A subreddit called ‘abrathatfits’ is an absolute saviour! I’ve finally found bras that fit and are comfortable. They give great tips on making sure you are finding and wearing the correct size.

You only made a “face” when you got to A. I’m wagging my finger at you right now😀

THIS MAN ACTUALLY KNOWS VICTORIA'S SECRET

This isn't accurate at all. VS employees tried to squeeze me into a 34D... (well, using words, I knew better)

I'm a 30G.

VS is all about sales. Look for the term "sister sizes." Maybe ladies with larger bands than what they sell might run into them trying to shift their cups around, too.

Victoria secret was made by a man, built by a team of men! I’m not shocked it’s not correct! 🤷🏼‍♂️

I've always known this, it's called vanity sizing, which sad because my boobs are way too big for VS bras 😂

Exactly!!! They told me I was a D and I had another girl recheck and she also said I was a D. I bought a C, knowing that I am a C, but was very disappointed when it does not fit me, too small. Then on Amazon I start buying D's and they're way too big and I'm like "yeah, exactly"

My bra size at Victoria’s Secret is literally the bra size I wear/find at every other location.

They fitted me as a 32C. Knew that wasn't right at all, especially after trying on their C cup bras and seeing huge cup gaps! I used the A Bra That Fits Calculator and it sized me at 32A/B with a sister size of 34AA which is way more accurate.

I got sized at VS 1 year, this brod told me I was a 38 C. I am asian and I can tell you I am not a C! I’m like -A

Really glad Dr.Youn confirmed this. I figured this out a long time ago- and believed it to be a marketing scheme to make women feel good as they shopped to increase the desire to purchase at VS.

Pls don’t assume everyone is like those women you see - there’s no need to apologize Dr 💝

i think they make more money that way because bigger bras are typically more expensive

I feel like this is true for some beast but it might also have to do with VS putting some people into sister sizes rather than a true size. I'm a 34D and my sister sizes would be a 36C or a 32DD. My biggest tip is learning to measure yourself at home, it takes only 30 seconds and it can help you when you're shopping for tops and dresses, not just bras!
