Grizzly G0634X - 12' Jointer Planer Combo Machine

After owning this machine for about 18 months and doing a major build for my online school, I want to walk you through my thoughts on this machine.

Overall I like it! There a few things that could be better, but I'll also talk about how I deal with those and I'll give some comparisons to my Hammer A3 31 that I'll be using in the physical school I'll be opening soon.

I have this machine and cannot get the infeed adjusted to pull the planer board into machine to plane

It’s hard to believe that fence doesn’t cause inaccuracy. Using the in/out method would negate these inaccuracies, but they would still be a problem if jointing a single piece that one wanted to be square.

Combo machines only advantage is shipping and space saving but all who buy them complain about them often during production you notice lots of limitations and challenges, i prefer to go one by one.

Thanks. With shipping and tax the Grizzly is $4600 vs the Hammer at $7000. That is a big difference. JFYI. I had the Hammer in my cart and stopped when they quoted $1400 to ship to California.

I have the same machine. I have never removed the red guard when switching, just do the right wing first when lifting and last when dropping back down. Great review though. Not my favorite machine but many x cheaper than the hammer…

I have one like that machine and shipped overseas it is working exccept only when you want use planer. Like taking the fence and taking the gurd out. It is powerfull machine and low noise

Looks like a clone of the equivalent SCM machine which was rated as the best combo machine by Fine Woodworking.

That machine is a disaster. Its hard to believe they can make something that bad.

Don't waste you money. I've had this machine for less than one year and nothing but problems with starting. garbage
