I have an 8" in my cart..A friend of mine moved and gave me a 6" delta jointer with a 36in bed. I was going to change the cutter head to helical for $300., but I think I'll get this and sell the Delta...

One YouTube poster stated that (per the manual) the fence has to be unscrewed on the 12 inch model to covert the machine to planer mode. Can you confirm that the fence can be moved in the way you show on the 12 inch model?

you can adjust jointer depth so happy birthday to me have to drive to the border to pickup but thats a 25 minute drive so no big deal

Has anyone bought the G0959 and tried it yet?
I need some feedback about it, I am debating between this one and the G0634X since they are both 12" Jointer/planer combo and their cutterheads aren't straight knives, it is the price difference between the two that I am considering!!

The old Foley Belsaw made this same thing, not a new concept. It utilized the cutter either from the top as the jointer or bottom through the planer.

My G0958 started leaving black streaks on everything I plane and not feeding wood after only 4 hours of use. So far I've only planed new soft wood. Checked and feed rollers are disintegrating. Parts of one flaked off on my fingers. Had planned to do several hundred hours of work on the unit this winter, doesn't look like that's going to be possible. Contacted Grizzly. I like the form factor and, so far, the jointer has worked fine, but the planer failing like this after only 4 hours of work is a pretty bad sign for a shop tool.
