Born and raised here in Albuquerque and I've never hated Texans. One of my grandmothers was Elena Gallegos who is very well known in Albuquerque for having left acres of land for everyone to enjoy. New Mexico has so many great things to talk about such as our rich heritage and our amazing chili that you can't help but get hooked on.

Y'know I quite enjoy the prickly pear tuna fruit as I think they're called. When it's mid hike during those late summer days, the sweetness and hydration it provides can be pretty awesome. And its not that hard to clean the spines off too, I got pretty good just using a bandana and mentally ignoring a few tiny ones.

I heard that if a roadrunner crosses your path it's good luck. I guess not for rattlesnakes though.

I moved to ABQ 5 yrs ago. Didn’t know I was supposed to hate TX🤣. Also saw a roadrunner grab a bird from my bird feeder and beat it to death on the patio. Then it flew away and left it there?

I love Roadrunners, so much cooler than the cartoon. Most bad ass and don't fear anything. My dog knows enough to stay away from them. I hate chollas. Do not ever touch a cholla, if anything touches it, just throw it away. I think the prickly pear is pretty with the fruit but also has a nice bloom. I don't drink, but I had prickly pear iced tea (actually was in Phoenix) and bought one. It was full of those little pricklers and it wasn't much fun, but I got a small amt. of bright pink juice and it made an excellent vinaigrette. Also had prickly pear jelly which is quite nice. Didn't know the names of the volcanoes but I forgot now anyway.

I tried living in Albuquerque, but unfortunately, it just didn't work out real well. Friggen Covid killed that whole thing. Well, that and there's no money there in any industry I'm aware or aligned with. Too bad because it's a beautiful place
