I would like to Install a J35 in my 2009 impreza. How much is one of those adapter plates going to cost? I am sticking with the 5 speed automatic that is in the car. I am not looking for a race car...just some reliable power. I am in North Carolina and have a line on a J35 engine, wiring harness and computer. Should be easy enough to fab engine mounts...just need an adapter plate. Thanks for responding...I realize the video is a couple years old.

I want to adapt either Honda or TOyota 3.5 v6 to a Boxter or Subby trans. I like the Subby trans due to having the Starter mounted on it rather then on the back side of the engine adapter when using a Porsche trans.
Tell me do you find the recessed flywheel in the EJ a determining factor for the 1" thick adapter you had made?
No other engine I have come across has the flywheel pushed into the block.

Monkey W, you could have sent your adaptor plate to be traced and cut by CNC or water jet cutting and sell adaptor plates, that's if you wanted to.

Looking through this video again and wanted to ask...my HUX adapter plate for the KSwap has helicoils in every bolt hole, is your adapter plate similar? Or perhaps using time-serts? I can't tell from looking at the threads myself.

If Subaru was smart, they would ditch their oil burning, gasket blowing boxer engines and use Honda J-series engines like GM did in the Saturn Vue.
