The Common Core State Standards Initiative
Показать описание
For years, classroom teachers have been held accountable for their students' standardized test scores. This continues to be the norm. What is going to happen to teachers when the Common Core Standards are implemented? This is not an easy question. However, a team of educators believe they have the answer. They have designed a step-by-step plan that will make implementing the common core standards easy.
Common Core Standards for Grades K-12
The Common Core Standards define the knowledge and skills that students should have within their Kindergarten through 12th grade education careers so that they will graduate high school able to succeed in entry-level, credit-bearing academic college courses and in workforce training programs. In addition, the common core standards will dictate what teachers s teach and when they teach it. This will necessitate a stronger approach to pedagogy.
Common Core Standard Based Curriculum
Teachers should always be accountable for content knowledge. However, if they don't possess the ability to teach the content and have the necessary tools to teach, no amount of student testing and tutorial help will suffice. Students will not be college ready or able to enter a post-high school career path with any sense of confidence unless they are taught using a strong common core standard based curriculum that will ensure that they are ready to meet the challenges of a college-and- career ready agenda.
