Only problem with local storage is that when you are looking at it live it stops recording to the storage. So the video won’t be saved

Also, the drawback of using only local storage is that when you choose to watch the camera in "LIVE" mode, the camera stops recording...you can only record live video with the subscription service.

Do u have to hsve s blink camera or will the blink module work on any security camera? He never memtioned thst and where he bought it, so much left out information. Also do u need the recording module for each camera i have 3 cameras so how would u record from 3 cameras?

The storage media you keep referring to is a flash card, not an SD card.

Hey got a question, I added a 3rd camera now mine isn’t recording, what should I do ?
It was recording just like you said through the usb drive but now it’s saying the USB Storage device has no recordings ?
& I don’t know how to fix that

I don't actually need that case for the module do I? I can just leave it on the table top or even velcro it to the bottom of an end table, ect. ? The case you have is just for mounting to a wall if you like. Correct? I call the recording medium you have there a "thumb drive". I thought an SD card was the small flat thingy. But hey, good video and thanks. I learned something for sure. I'll be out of town sometimes and from what I see I can still access my camera's videos thru the app because it will read them from the Sync Module. Right? Even without a monthly subscription?

Nah. After the 30 day trial you lose the ability to see recordings on the app when using local storage.

No offense, but you have no clue what your talking about because you didn’t weigh the pros and cons of the monthly subscription vs local usb storage on the sync module itself.
You cannot access your videos via the app just using local storage, you have to physically take your usb drive to your computer and view files that way.
Also I believe your still on your 30 day trial cloud subscription plan still, that’s why you think your accessing footage from the “local” storage via the sync module because without the cloud your video would take forever to load and I’m sure that’s something you would mention and you didn’t solidifying my hunch that your still on cloud service. I’ve watched a lot of videos on this topic and have experienced myself that these cameras are not able to play in a viable way that’s conducive to actual security cameras like ones that are hardwired and connected to an actual DVR for playback.
I chose to watch your video because I thought you had discovered a new way to save locally but that wasn’t the case. I would be just as excited as you are if what you said were factual, I thought the same thing too while still in the 30 day trail period. Almost…

This so called module 2 is garbage!! it doesn’t work with my BLINK cam and iPhone, I’ve ordered four of these, and all of them failed. I had a technician hooked these up by phone and he still didn’t know what he was doing for a technician.. anyway don’t waste your money on these modules. It’s nothing but trash. BLINK needs to upgrade the module or recall this model for all its failures ASAP !
