I have the X1 Pro Gen 2 on my mountain bike.
The power is intoxicating..
I’m running the BAC855 and I can get about 50 mph on 18s 20 AH batteries.
I have 650 miles on it and I’ve had zero issues.

Do you need it? No. I have a 5kw hub motor and 72v battery. But it’s very nice to have the power. Getting up hill with out losing speed. Able to carry a cart loaded and still get up those hills. And every now and then 55mph is fun. I wish I had this mid drive motor, I might save to upgrade. I hate the weight of the hub motor.

Hey, I have the Gen 2 with the BAC 2000. The issue with the BAC 2000 is mounting it. The cable that comes with it is very stiff and when plugged into the controller it is almost impossible to mount on a bike. the controller is about 126mm x 126mm and you will need another 130mm to clear the cable. It's like trying to mount a 125mm box on your bike. I built a box that fit in my frame that was 110mm wide and had to bend the cable to fit in the box. Rode the bike one time and the cable shorted out from it being bent. There is a guy that will 3D print a box that mounts under your frame for about $160.00. I have my own 3D printer so I printed my own. Also you'll need room for the battery as well in your frame. My 72V 20amp battery will not fit in most triangle frames. While their batteries may seem expensive their not considering the amps they're able to put out. I special ordered my battery with a custom BMS in order to achieve the 5000 Watts. For the power I had a custom wheel built with a Sturmey Archer 3 speed on a Fat Bike. With that much power I really didn't need all the gears for how I'm going to ride it and eliminating a lot of drive train issues. Well hope this helps. I'd suggest getting the Gen2/BAC855, 52V/20amp battery with at least 50 continuous current if you want something that is more plug and play and stream lined. However a BAC 2000 will smoke anything else hands down. It's just going to take more to implement as far as adding it in your bike. Hope this helps...

Goes with out saying but check and double check whatever you buy fits, I went bafang and had trouble with chainstay clearance when mounting so had to go up to a 100mm motor. Might not be an issue with cyc motors though.

There is a review and build of the 'Stealth' on Rob Rides EMTB if it helps

As an owner of cyc x1 pro and bafang bbshd, I'd advice getting a bafang and changing the controller over to the bac 855 and you'll be good for 4 and a half kW of peak power reliably at 72v. You can change nylon gear for peek and install auto roll back on motor if it gets too hot. Also cyc times are to cover their arse, they never take 3 months. Also lightening rods mid drives are insane but it won't go on your bike and it's not as easy to install as cyc or bafang which are a simple as it gets. Lightening rods also have a 20kw motor getting bench testes right now

I was trying to wrap my head around all the components, to get the motor to get 5400watts at 72v is 75 amps. so you need a battery that is 72v and can discharge continuously at 75a. the problem is you can't just buy one from their sight and the ones you can buy are about 10kgs.

It's a bit steep, you can get similar performance with a bafang HD, different controller and a big battery for the cost of that alone.
From what I have seen these motors are good but can be a bit on the noisy side

I run the Bafang BBS 02 on 52v with the BAC855 controller on PAS modes up to 1200w and on throttle up to 2600w it's more than enough I always ride with common sense over 1000 miles now on this set up, the motor is almost silent with the BAC855 pure sinewave controller it's well worth the upgrade..

I own both systems, from the comments below most people here don't own these motors. First how and where do you plan to use the motors. The bbshd is much quieter even with steel gear and bac 855 with 72v. This uses a cadence sensor and feels fake when using pedal assist. On throttle it's nice, very low torque. The cyc is way louder and much higher rpm and with bac 2000 on 72v is way more power, it's faster than the bbshd even with bac855. The cyc x1 pro and x1 stealth both use torque sensor which feel more like a factory ebike then home kit. Both can be used on solid bike, at over 6kw I have used cassettes (steel is best) and e sport chains. Downshift with low power or no throttle, never start in high gear.

For the motor to output the 5000w you need the bacs 2000. As for ordering try Electron cycles here in the UK they've got the X1 pro the stealth and the bbshd all stock or with various controller upgraded for all the watts

I’ve had my Gen2/bac2000 72v21ah for 2 years now on a kona scrap hardtail. I don’t mess with gear shifters. Was skipping too many gears with all that power. I’m set up as a single speed max 60kph. I can wheelie anywhere in that range.

I’ve got 2 more motors on route. Same specs. 1 for a kona coilair and 1 for a kona stinky primo. CYC is legit, these bikes are beasts. I can climb under throttle what most people wouldn’t care to walk up.

Hopefully you have no regrets with bafang. I’ve got none with CYC

Cheers

I haven't watched the entire video yet. My experience has been the motors are ahead of the battery capabilities (when dealing with restricted space). I love the specs and aesthetics of the CYC but it's a whine that I wouldn't be able to tolerate.

I am waiting for my x1 stealth, the manufacturer had problems with the supply of the bac855 controller but everything is now fine. Hence the waiting times on the website.

As for the engine, it all depends on what you will use your bike for. I will use it for my daily commuting and occasional weekend fun, so I chose the stealth version.

Before ordering, read the information on the manufacturer's website for both motors, the stealth for example is 1500W, but in combination with the battery I will have for it (72v), the engine power can increase to 2500W.

What is more than enough for my needs 😅

I'm looking forward to the shipment

Hi ..I purchased x1pro Gen2 on the 19th jan 22 and have a text saying arriving this week of 14/2/22.. id make your throttle 72v as well I will use a 72v 19ah triangle 50ah bms Good luck with your decision. I chose the cyc for power and ground clearance Iam mounting on a $200 steel frame fat bike with upgraded brakes 200mm hydraulic bettter stem and bars front shocks and converting to a single speed 32 or 38 t using a pinion spider heavy chain as i dont want to pedal much i ride the desert.some hills rocky and sand with lots of cross country Cheers have fun .
Oh yea Im a first time viewer and saw the keyboard..drummer here 👍

cool video, thanks
Dont put the CYC on that Carrera, you1ll need a better bike than that for it, maybe a good downhill bike or something really strong
I have a similar bike with the Bafang 750/1000 and its awesome enough, i use it daily for about 5 hours doing delivery work
It keeps up with cars, does wheelies, gets to 30mph quick
I was going to buy a CYC but my Bafang is already enough
My next build is going to be a small motorcycle 4000w like a faster than usual 50cc
No point in any more power on a normal mountain bike it will just rip it to bits, thats just my opinion
Im actually wondering what motor your going for on your motor cycle build ...

Well I’ve no experience with e-bikes at all but that does seem like an insane amount of power compared to the Bafang ones. I’m tempted to convert my existing bike to a mid drive so I will also await feedback from others. Best of luck whichever way you decide to go👍

Depends how big your battery is I fried my battery with the bac 2000
But the original one I could do 70 km now I hit 85 and slowed down and a lot more torque

Definitely you have to buy this cyc motor. Because it makes you will get very big smile on your face every time you cycling with it 😄Cheers.

i have been eyeing the cyc stuff for almost a year now i have watched a few reviews and a few tear downs I would say if you can get one by all means do it ! I purchased the Luna 3000 it was a real job to get it on my bike i even had custom mounts cut to replace the thin supplied brackets. The Luna 3000 Kit is also the same as the gngebike kit but gng is built alot better. i am new to owning middrives but i have a 750bafang it's ok but i'm hoping the 3000w luna will be worth the extra work.
