"op should stay home if they're that sick" do they not realise that's literally the purpose of a service dog so they CAN go out and do things?

A puzzle. The wife from the fourth story gave her husband a puzzle. That's it.
That's like saying buying a kid a mickey plush, telling them "We're going to Disneyworld!" and then being like "right, okay so when you're adult with your own money to pay for it, we will go to Disneyworld."

Story 2: Ngl I kind of love how "Then why don't YOU do it!?" has become one of this channel's recurring themes. It's so applicable in a surprising number of cases and really shines a light on the other person's actual opinions/feelings about something.

That Karen who yelled that no dogs were allowed in the office forgot one detail...

She is more of a dog than OP's service dog will ever be. 😂

Story 4: what gift? She put no effort or money to this trip, all she did was buy a puzzle. OP doesn’t owe her an apology or thank you because she thinks she did something worth appreciating.

Story 3: That was my theory too. He hates his life decisions, and when combined with his jealousy, made up in his mind that OP is the villain while he is an innocent pour soul trapped by an abusive controlling OP.

But it's his fault. He didn't communicate his issues with OP (constantly telling OP to "forget it") after bring said issue up, and it lead to OP concluding he was going to break up.

I had something similar happen to me at lifetime fitness. I spent 6 years in a wheelchair from a car accident breaking nearly my entire spine. Many surgeries and PT sessions later, I go in with my cane to the gym for the first time. The lady at the front desk loudly proclaimed, “Are you SUPPOSED to have that cane?!”, it felt really humiliating having to explain my situation.

Story 3: R/ answered his own question, this guy wanted OP to be heartbroken and beg for him to stay. Or he just wanted to be mad., I don’t know what his problem and frankly, it doesn’t matter anymore because it’s not OP’s to deal with anymore. She should focus on getting him out of her apartment and out of her life, because there’s something severely unstable about this man who seem to hate every thing going on in his life.

I always prepare for family stories where they ask for money or help and the other family members give them a hard time and I anticipate for rslash to go “THEN YOOOOUUUU DO IT! YOU HELP THEM THEN!” 🤣

Dude that gift story is crazy. It's crazy because it's so dumb. I actually did something kind of similar to my dad, but in a TOTALLY different way.

My dad kept talking for years about wanting to visit Italy. I knew he'd never do it though, because he lives a lifestyle where he gives most of what he has to other people. He either funds my mom's horse obsession, helps my sister with medical bills, gives to his younger siblings if they are in need, or donates to charities. He keeps almost no luxury items for himself, so a guy i worked with was like, "Why don't you give him money and send him to Italy?" I spent about 8 months saving money, and I collected a few hundred dollars from my dad's 5 siblings to help with this since I wasn't saving fast enough. By Christmas, I had about $2, 500 total. I wanted to give my dad a physical item as a joke, so i got a beat up box from my mom and stuck the oldest boot i could find into it. I have my dad that box and he laughed and said something like, "Well, I know i always tell you guys not to get me anything for Christmas but I think maybe you're taking it a bit far." He opened this box and pulled out an old boot and i told him I was giving him a chance to go see the biggest, oldest boot. He had no idea what i meant, so i said Is collected money for months to send him to Italy. He was so shocked that you could see his brain just shut down for like 5 seconds.

Now, I did collect a decent amount of money for him, but he also put like another $1, 500 in himself so he could take a longer trip. I also didn't make an travel arrangements, but that was done for two reasons. Firstly, I didn't know where he wanted to go in Italy or what he wanted to do. He only ever said, "I would like to visit Italy one day." I didn't want to send him to Naples if he really wanted to go to Tuscany, or something. The second reason I didn't do any trip planning is because my dad *loves* to plan trips. He should have been a travel agent. He found himself flights and places to stay. He talked to friends who had been to places he wanted to go in order to learn more. He picked the time of year. Everything.

He never would have gone if I didn't give him the first bit of money, but I didn't really do anything other than collect a wad of cash and say, "Either use this to go to Italy, or I'm taking it back. Go have fun, you old man. You've earned it." That wife basically just said, "see if you can go to that football gave of you want, " and even that was after some minor homework. 🎉🎉 great gift.

Marcus is the only family that matters.

The mom doesn't actually want to forgive. She just wants money.

Eta: clearly there's nothing she has to "forgive" as op is just existing and being himself. Omg! You love a man with more melanin than you! The HORROR! What will the neighbors think?!? <pearl clutching ensues>

Autistic here... being on the spectrum is not a "get away with anything you do" card, actions have concequences.

Story 2: OP is putting his family first... the family he's building with Marcus. So what are they complaining about?

The PhD guy needs to man up. Cowards blame others for their own issues, which is what this guy is doing. Honestly, that lady dodged a bullet.

The first story: OH FUCKING SO KAREN GETS TO HARASSS OP AND POSSIBLY SENT TO THE HOSPITAL AND KAREN IS RIGHT? NO that shit dont fly. Homie don't play that.

Story 1: screw her friends and family, she intentionally tried to induce a medical incident to prove a point, then gave out OP’s information online so she could force out the servant dog that did nothing to her. She got fired because after the harassment, false reports and endangerment to an employee, the company had no other option.

OP did exactly what they should have done. If she desperately needed the job to support her children, she should have been doing her job and not harassing fellow coworkers. And R/ is right, OP definitely has a case here and they could probably get the evidence collected from their work if they see legal action.

15:40 EXACTLY ! My familly was FULL of pdf files (all dead now exept for one uncle.) I learned this two years ago, at 26 years old. And now I'm disgusted at my entire familly, at my parents too, because they allowed us to have a relationship with these monsters. They authorized us to potentialy love them, to grow a kind of attachment, and why ?? That's beyond my understanding ! When I asked my mother "why ??" She couldn't even give me a reason. I felt sick. I'm in therapy rn.

“Pets aren’t allowed in the office.”

“Then why are you here?”

Story 1: NTA. That Karen's family is basically saying "So what if she tried to dox you and harass you? You still shouldn't have got her fired, it's just a dog! You should work from home, jeez!". Obviously she didn't include WHY she got fired, and spun the story to sound like SHE was the victim. Now I see how Karen got her behavior from, her family is JUST as bad for defending a doxxer/harasser. You aren't at fault here OP, SHE got herself fired.

Story 2: NTA. If the family thinks you should help because "FAmIlY COmEs FIrSt", why don't THEY support her then? If they are perfectly fine with what she'd done, and ridiculing YOU for not helping her because of the grudge, THEY should help her, because "FAmIlY COmEs FIrSt", right? Jesus, sometimes it's the stupid logic coming from other family members.
