Tame Impala - The Less I Know The Better (Bass Cover) (Play Along Tabs In Video)

Tips And Comments:

- Playing Technique:

Played between pickups (a little closer to the neck for the chorus parts) with middle strength. Just neck knob activated

- Gear Sound:

Added some fuzz and some distorion for the main riff. This combined with the chorusl line wich has a lot of bass and not much treble. I really think i did what i could with the sound, but is not even close enough to a cool tone like the original

- About The Song:

I'll probably repeat in the comments this. Careful with the slides, i hurt my pinky doing them. So if you have roundwounds like me, be careful and don't play to much, or get used to the pain. Slides must be done with not the full pressure, but if they are repeated constantly you'll have enough friction to get some damage. Other than that, not a very difficult line except for this, just practice

I hurt my pinky practicing the song, that's why i don't use it that much (i recommend using it always and not letting it hang like a useless finger). The slides in the song my cause some friction and damage your fingers, so be careful if you have roundwounds like me.

That 2:52 bass riff during the 2nd chorus is so simple yet genius.

I don’t know what’s more impressive, his playing skill, or his ability to match the tone of any song absolutely perfectly

The bass is arguably the most important part of a band besides the drums

the bass mixing is unreal. the overdrive and presence in the chorus vs the subby subtle tone in the verses. And the killer attack throughout

I just love the apparently accidental harmonic you play within the 1:28 second. One of those 3rd string 7 fret notes sounds like some harmonic and octave or two above the original note. I think it should be put into the original song. That's the kind of schtik I really like in bass

Excellent bass cover, tabs are super. Thank you for sharing your talent. I only noticed this song and band sitting in a restaurant because of the startling bass. Never heard of Tame Impala before I heard this song and the bass is a real catcher!!!!.

This song is one of the greatest songs and seeing the bass I understand how much bass driven it is.

This is such a cool bass line and love the cover - you got a really good tone and the playing was super smooth! My only question is why did you tune down a step - I could not see any reason for this?
