Caitlin Clark has been lighting up the WNBA, but not everyone’s ready to give her the credit she deserves. Critics have been relentless, questioning her every move, and ESPN analysts have even downplayed her chances for Rookie of the Year. However, Shannon Sharpe isn’t having it.

Sharpe didn’t hold back when he called out ESPN analysts for doubting Clark’s supremacy in the WNBA. Specifically, he took issue with those who’ve refused to acknowledge her as a top contender for Rookie of the Year. Sharpe even compared the skepticism surrounding Clark to the early criticism faced by NBA legends like Larry Bird and Luka Dončić, who also had to prove their talent to disbelievers. Sharpe made it clear: "This ain’t hype. Caitlin Clark can play." He didn’t stop there. Sharpe directly addressed certain ESPN personalities, saying, “You know who you are, and you had a lot to say early on. Where’s all that talk now?”

Sharpe’s fiery comments seemed aimed at ESPN commentator and former coach Carolyn Peck, a vocal supporter of Angel Reese for Rookie of the Year. Earlier in the season, Peck praised Reese for putting up what she called "grown woman numbers" and implied that Clark’s game didn’t measure up. But with each passing game

If CC was black… there would be no debate about ROTY. Plain and simple.

Most assists means she thought about her teammates more than anybody else! She has A.I.

How is Angel Reese’s shooting percentage lower than Caitlin Clark’s when she’s under the hoop, and Clark is shooting from dang near half court.

in their last game against each other, Clark sat out the last 4 minutes of a blowout while Reese was out their trying to pad her numbers against back-ups. She is a loser!!!

“black people cant be racist”
a profound misunderstanding of what racism is to say the least

I don't care why Sheryl Swoopes says the things she does. Racist? Worried about Caitlyn surpassing her? Does it matter?
If she wants to consider herself a "professional" commentator, she has to act professionally and put her own bull$hit aside. She has already damaged her reputation.
Caitlyn's assists, her court vision, her basketball IQ, have not only benefitted her performance, but helped all of her teammates maximize theirs. SHE has given her teammates the chance to make the team better.
It's incredible that Swoopes sees the improvement but credits everyone else's shooting, without a thought as to who and what is making that possible.
What an insignificant hill to let your reputation as a basketball professional die on, Sheryl. There will always be someone better who comes along. Meet Caitlyn Clark.

This is clearly obvious biased towards Kaitlyn Clark I mean the fact that anyone would actually try to put angel Reese over Kaitlyn Clark is flat out ridiculous or it’s racially motivated all these panelist on ESPN are already proven that

Bottom line...If Clark continues down the path she's heading, she'll become legend. Her haters will become nothing more than dust collecting in some abandoned building. That's how irrelevant they'll be to the sports of basketball...just like the great Bob Cousy.

lets not forget in that game vs Chicago Clark was pulled with 4 minutes to go in the 4th up almost 30 points and Reese only had 5 points and 4 rebounds .. She got to 10 points and 11 rebounds in the last 4 minutes of the game AFTER Caitlin was pulled .. Garbage time stats

its so funny to me....have you noticed how many black people there are by now that will look at other black people refusing their racism when the other says something OBVIOUSLY based on race, like: " BUT??!?!?...YOURE ONE OF US!? you PROFIT FROM THIS!?!?!? Why arent you supporting me!?"

Clark should not need to fight against all the racism. and why aren't more commentators calling out the swoops lies?

There is no debate. Just hate. She should be ROTT and League MVP. Define MVP and you get CC. She’s the most impactful player of the league.

Those women who said Clark didn't belong in the Olympics because there were 12 better players? Why did those 12 better players lose to the WNBA team?
I'm glad CC had time to work on her game and get rejuvenated after moving directly from college to pro ball. But there is no way that CC wouldn't have improved the lackluster numbers 2024 Olympic Women's Basketball received. Her passing would have helped Aja, who basically dragged the US team to a win, along with assists from Breanna and Chelsea.
