Danny Dyer was discovered by a scout while at school in East London and landed his first acting role in Prime Suspect 3 in 1994. He gained a reputation for playing the tough guy and films like Human Traffic (1999) and The Football Factory (2004) put him on the road to stardom. Danny is most famous for his portrayal of Mick Carter in EastEnders from 2013 to 2022.

Ryan Sampson was born in Rotherham and studied acting at Drama Centre London. He began his career on stage in various theatrical productions. His big break came in 2013, when he played Grumio in the historical sitcom Plebs on ITV2. Ryan also appeared in Brassic with Michelle Keegan in 2019. Ryan wrote and stars in the new comedy series Mr Bigstuff with Danny Dyer.

Danny and Ryan are an unlikely pair but their chemistry is undeniable, making this Dish double-date unmissable. Our foursome talks vinaigrettes, pesto and couscous before tackling the important topic of modern masculinity, inspired by their new show, out now on Sky.

We can’t all have a Michelin star chef in the kitchen, but you can ask Angela for help.

I don’t really like pesto either. It’s too much basil… I have never had to eat it because there are always other options.

I'm with Danny F*cking Dyer on this.
Basil, garlic, olive oil, and pinenuts are all fine separately. Pesto is rank.

Moroccan here, couscous is the dish not just the pearls like thing so here is a brick down for the pearls :
They can be either :
Corn
White flour dough *this can be tiny, medium or large*
Rye

Depends on which region and personal preference; for exp tunisians make a spicy almost red looking couscous dish, in morocco we've got the vegetables couscous and the sweet couscous which is topped with sweetned raisins with caramilized onions, almost like a caramel soaked topping, for protein it's either chicken or meat I know some do fish but idk its origins, you can in fact do veggies + the sweet topping
For amazighs the natives, they got a calender on their own for the agriculture year, there is a day on which you make a 7 veggie couscous to celebrate.

The big pearls like really large ones ain't couscous, it's a medieval dish called muhammassa, because you make them look like chickpeas *hummus*, it can be called diff things, it's andalusian so you find it in north africa and the levant region, it' not what they call "israeli couscous" that's colonial bullshit, it's made differently tho, with milk, with dried buttermilk rocks and chickpeas, etc

I love nontraditional pestos where the ingredients are swapped, especially the basil. Also, the worst pesto I’ve eaten had a bitter taste bc the pine nuts were roasted too long.

I do like pesto but there's something in it that doesn't agree with me. I love Danny Dyer, he is an absolute legend, always makes me laugh.

I'm the same. I love ALL the ingredients in pesto, but I just can't eat pesto. I think because, pesto looks like someone already ate it.

Yeah, but it isn't a bit of basil. I agree with the pesto avoidance. Basil is best in small amount.

Did anyone mention cheese? Many pestos with garlic and cheese can be too intense.
