Lego will never fall. Theyve allready had their brush with death twice. Their product has gotten objectively better over time, if this wasnt true their profits would reflect it. Instead they are more profitable than ever.

Lego are becoming too expensive. They’re gonna end up becoming a rich kids toy or toy’s for adults type of thing. The average family can’t afford to collect lego anymore, when a decent set is worth like a weeks worth of rent 😂

This will sound pedantic, but as long as they're making money, the product as a whole has not gone down in perceived value on the aggregate. That is definitionally true. It's true that this statement does not apply to a monopoly holder, but LEGO is no more a monopoly holder than any other company with intellectual property has a monopoly over their own ip.

The people who make the claim of monopoly end up supporting an idea contrary to their sentiment: that LEGO, at least subjected to the preferences of the person making said claim, is actually undervalued. Since their preference for LEGO over other products is so dominant, their aversion to substituting for competitors products makes them feel as though LEGO holds a monopoly, because they are willing to incur the costs of increases to price.

They're capitalizing on the adult collectors and the 18+ line, and also the added complexity of the sets is an excuse to drive up prices.

Matt has a good point that you missed Finn. Yes they have teams for themes but each team has less to work with because Lego themes (IP) are so spread out! (Team Matt)

When I comes to Star Wars I’d say they have gotten better at making sleek designs especially when it comes to ships and not all of it is over priced but some is, just for the figure count, but the only set series I’d say is extremely overpriced for no reason is Jurassic world, a set with 300 peices will cost $70 because it comes with a T. rex

Do people not understand that the design gets a butldget they can use, and thats it. They have to make sets that try to look good, are durable enough to be a olayset, and stay within the budget at the same time.

Lego has become extremely lazy and they just hate the starwars ip any new theme or set usually get more pieces more minifigs and for less then a sw set would me

I highly doubt they are cutting that many corners, because they do have real competitors, just not in a traditional sense. The second legos get to $0.20 per brick, half the people buying them will switch to chinese knockoffs. We already see it happening in the moc scene, with people buying from webrick or gobricks.
Thats not to say i dont like lego, despite being expensive, i still like as much as someone should like a company, and im certain they pay their employees better than those knockoff brands.

Wow these guys show time and time again they simply don’t know what their talking about.
So businesses fall when what? They report record profits year after year and have steady growth for 25 years? That’s how they fall by going into new themes? Ok
Um it’s a podcast talk have nothing but time to talk about the company and it’s standing with their customers, you don’t have time? You’re in you pajamas talking about Lego. You have nothing but time.
Awesome to think in their minds Lego is just one entity and one team doing everything from international regulations to building and designing sets. Just stick to making tier list on your favorite Lego sets
