Thank you very much I seem to be having trouble like this or some similar problems like this it passed in 1973 the inspection that needed to pass and it will not pass the 2023 city-state county national code for 2023 I'm serious I need to rwire it

I have 2 outlets on the same circuit that have power with a plug-in tester, but anything that I plug in does not work. The outlet(s) upstream work perfectly. I replaced one of the outlets and inspected the pigtail connections/nuts and all seemed well connected and secure, hot wire section indicated power. I did not replace or inspect the downstream outlet yet. Any ideas how to go about trouble shooting from this point? Appreciate your videos!

Those testers only work if the outlet has power, useless when no power is connected
