Hi, I have a Master Lock pad lock with the black center turning wheel, problem that the wheel is jammed and won't turn, and the top latch only opens halfway revealing some opening of the hole. Should I use WD40 to spray in the halfway opening if it can loosen the wheel and latch? Or what do yu recommend? Thanks

Really helpful Mark, thank you! Spent ages trying to put lubricant on my lock without realising it would be best to put it in the little hole!!!

Worked like a charm, thank you. Also I didn’t have WD 40 so I used olive oil

Thank you so much! My motorbike disk brake lock has gone from spending 1-15mins struggling to unlock it to now opening instantly with ease.

Thanks for the vid. I just tried this and added a moth hammer touch popped right open. I had this lock for my entire military career and randomly just found the 🔑

It also helps to lubricate the ball bearings holding the shackle. Sometimes old grease that was originally put inside the lock by the factory sometimes hardens up and causes the ball bearings to stick.

This is the perfect video, don’t get me wrong my last lock I had for a bike the lock itself was fine it was really just the key mechanism that kept getting stuck but currently I recently bought a security guard lock and it was raining bad yesterday and today it’s already gotten rusty from one wet encounter . So in this case surprisingly it isn’t the key giving me problems but the lock either has a hard time coming out when unlocked or has a hard time closing when I try to push it down to lock its resistant . But everyone I’ve looked up keeps helping the key and I needed a solution for the lock itself Thank You for sharing

My bike was parked in the city center and my lock got stuck due to rust. I already called the police and the locksmith then I decided to look on youtube. I bought a bottle of wd40 and it worked like a charm!

Im talking about a vintage ILCO solid brass padlock - very old. Pin number 1 won't budge. I can feel the others being springy, but pin 1,

Every couple months or so even if my lock isn’t stuck I dowse it in wd-40 then I let it sit for a day or two and let the wd-40 evaporate then I put 3-in-1 oil in it and I haven’t had a problem with my lock in a long time

To prevent it next time, let the wd40 dry and spray it with an oil spray, lubricates and protects from rusting.

Hi. I have a similar lock with this same exact issue.. key turns, lock opens slightly but not completely. I sprayed WD-40 in all the same places. But the lock still won’t open! It’s quite rusted and the WD-40 won’t remove it. Any suggestions?
