As a coach, I have seen ultra competitive athletes go through much of this. They get sooo upset that they are missing out on competitions that they lie about how well they are doing before they are ready to come back. Which obviously often leads to making the situations worse.

My son is doing gymnastics( he is 8), he got a severe ankle sprain, he came back practicing after a month of wearing a cast but still should take it easy(as his doctorsaid), but his coach pushing him to use his leg as normal as he used to, even after my son complaining about his pain( and his ankle still has swelling), his coach even punishes him by asking him to do sit ups (or whatever it called). My heart is hurting by watching it, what to do?
