I've been a Kitty user for a few years. For me the thing that distinguishes it from Alacritty is support for ligatures.

I work on Linux systems from a windows pc. I was using PuTTY forever but recently switched to WezTerm. The only thing I miss that I can't do X11 forwarding through WezTerm, but I can live without it.

I use sakura because it's so easy to copy and paste from/to terminal from/to the web browser. It may not be the fastest but it suits my needs as I usually need to copy error messages from the terminal.

I switched off of Kitty to Wez specifically because of Kitty's (and the creators) lack of support for fonts with italics. Since I use Neovim any time I'm not using my work IDE it's definitely a dealbreaker for me. Also, the Kitty author is very hard headed and refuses to consider suggestions or issues that are raised by the community. No hate on him, I just want a good experience through and through

I'm really enjoying Kitty. However, as just an average layman pc user (not a dev, not a coder, don't have an M.A. in Computer Science) I'm finding all of this to be extremely confusing. I can't even figure out how to change the damn font in the terminal.

Of course Kitty :-) Hands down the best terminal out there. Its incredible flexible and super fast. I use Kitty together with Yabai/skhd. Never had a better setup on mac.

WezTerm is amazing and it’s my #1! Config is intimidating but it is EXTREMELY customizable. You can even add parallax background scrolling that moves when you scroll.

I just started checking out Warp and it seems like it might be a contender. Some brand new features for terminal emulators.

For me Kitty+Tmux(+Resurrect plugin) + Neovim ruining on Arch with bspwm is The Best Setup ever

I switched from Alacritty to Kitty for Neovim and Kittty is definitely smoother and more stable. Alacritty tends to be laggy in long files.

If it's written in Rust it always gets mentioned, if it's not – one's left to wonder 😂
I like how Alacrity doesn't have any features for tabs and splits, as if it's meant to work with the suckless utilities ^.^

For over three years Kitty. And with some small key mappings you get VIM navigation keys in Kitty while holding down the Ctrl key. 😄
