A GPU or Graphics Processing Unit is one of the most important hardware for computer systems when it comes to graphics. Its main job is to process and render graphics. The quality of graphics in video games, movies, etc., depends on the graphics card. To display and render heavy graphics, your computer requires a heavy-duty graphics card. If you are a gamer, you better know the importance of graphics cards. Hence, it is important to keep your graphics card healthy. If your GPU keeps crashing or freezing or behaving oddly, then this tutorial will show you how to check GPU health on a Windows computer.

There are different methods by which you can check GPU health on a Windows Computer. Below, we have explained all these methods in detail.

1] Using the DirectX Diagnostic Tool

2] Using the Device Manager

3] Via free GPU benchmarking software

Hi! I get a 'no problems found' but the GPU still crashes when I play graphics-heavy games. Card is within normal temps(36c), Windows is updated(except one that won't install no matter what but it appears to not install for anyone - known issue), drivers for NVidia are up to date(I have the 2060 Super that came with my HP Omen 30L that I purchased in early 2021). I repasted the GPU, but it still happens. CPU temps are at 60c. Sometimes I can play for a while and other times it gives me a black screen(signal lost). I took the card in to Microcenter and they put it in a machine there. Same thing happened. I am about to just get another GPU(a cheap one until I can do better). Is my GPU definitely beyond repair if it crashed in both systems? I am not really skilled with overclocking, etc. and I don't even think that's an option for me since it does not show up in OMEN Gaming Hub. Also, the 30L came with only a 500W PSU, but HP claims that the system has been optimized to work with this card even with the PSU being 150W below the MINIMUM. But this card was tested at Microcenter with what I am sure was a much higher PSU. I also brought along my RAM to have that tested(I read somewhere that bad RAM can sometimes cause an issue). Everything passed except for the GPU(which crashed in MSI five seconds into testing). Should I just get a new card? I am all out of options. Thanks so much!

I just bought a new monitor and I got these weird glitches, turned it off and on and it went back to normal, after 2 hrs the glitch came back, turned it off and on again and it went back to normal again. Tried all these steps to check if it was my GPU causing the problem, no problems were detected on my video card. Does that mean my GPU is okay and the glitch came from my new monitor?

Im fairly sure method 1 is not very reliable. I get the "No problems found" while knowing my GPU is dying. Same for option 2.

On top, in my experience, furmark will roast your GPU if you dont know what you are doing. So if you enjoy the sound of crackling plastic ? Go for it.
